You know that phenomenon called the calm before the storm? You're outside and you notice everything seems to go quiet, the air goes still, and all seems peaceful. It's time to head inside, and get ready because in a few minutes, the air will change, the clouds will appear, and raindrops will start falling on your head. Saturday was my calm before the storm.

For Jane Lynch, coping with the loss of Glee costar Cory Monteith is an ongoing struggle.
"I think that grieving comes in waves," she told PEOPLE at the Ciroq-sponsored Variety & Women in Film pre-Emmy event in Beverly Hills, Calif., on Friday. "Every day that I go to work, I walk past his trailer, and every time I look at a call sheet I see that his name is not on there. Every time I do a scene with the kids I realize that he's not there, so you're reminded in every moment. It's hard, and it feels like such a waste."
But while Lynch admits "it's tough" as she and her castmates continue to mourn the 31-year-old – who died from a lethal combination of heroin and alcohol this past July – her heart goes out to his girlfriend and costar, Lea Michele.

We're assuming you haven't just watched both seasons of Scandal, you inhaled them in an unhealthy amount of time (and if you're not tuning into the show, we're not sure what you're doing with your life).
And we're also assuming that like us, you're a die-hard fan of D.C.'s sexiest crisis manager, one Olivia Pope (fabulously played by Kerry Washington). Wishing your life were a little more Scandal-ous? Follow these lessons out of the Pope playbook.

Going into Sunday's Primetime Emmy Awards has Claire Danes feeling a flurry of emotions.
The Homeland star, 34, who is once again nominated for outstanding lead actress in a drama series, calls her nod "a nightmare come to life" – but not because she isn't grateful for the acknowledgment of her hard work.
"If you lose, you have to cope with that sting, and if you win, you have to get up and say something eloquent and charming, and remember to thank your husband or your wife," Danes tells PEOPLE. "It's always the vital person you forget to thank. It's terrifying. And then you see the clock ticking. It's awful, that particular part of it."

Neil Patrick Harris and his fiancé David Burtka haven't specifically told their twins about their entertainment careers.
That said, Harris, 40, who is hosting Sunday's Primetime Emmy Awards on Sunday, says their professional paths are pretty apparent because they've given their nearly 3-year-old little ones a very hands-on experience.
"I don't have any reason to tell them what we do for a living," the How I Met Your Mother funnyman told PEOPLE on Wednesday at an Emmy preview. "They've come to set. They know the crew. They got to come to the Tony rehearsals and watch the Cinderella dancers with all of their finest gownery and do their dancing, which was cool."

Carrie Preston, who won at Sunday's Creative Arts Emmy Awards for her role on The Good Wife, didn't even know she was nominated until her best friend texted her.
"[She] sends me a photo of herself weeping, so I thought, 'Let me give her a call and see what this is about,' " Preston, 46, told PEOPLE in a video interview. "She was like, 'You got nominated!' "
By the time the True Blood star's publicist called to confirm the good news, the excitement had begun to kick in.
"I was saying, 'Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God' in the streets of New York, which probably made me just look like any other crazy person walking around the city."
