In her acceptance speech for outstanding performance by a female actor in a leading role at Sunday's Screen Actors Guild Awards, Still Alice star Julianne Moore gave a shout-out to her early days on the soap opera As the World Turns.
"When I was on As the World Turns," Moore, 54, said to cheers, "I was so excited when they wrote two parts for me, the classic twin sister role, the good and the evil one ... and then I realized it was super boring to act by myself. And what I really loved, what I really craved, was being with another actor."
Turns out her loyalty to the show – which netted her a 1988 Daytime Emmy for playing identical half-sisters Frannie and Sabrina Hughes – is nothing new.
In 2010, shortly after wrapping up the awards-season circuit for her performance in The Kids Are All Right, Moore returned to the long-running series for its final episodes. The sentimental cameo arrived after a 22-year hiatus for Moore, and the reunion was clearly a joyful one.

Julianne Moore wasn't the only one feeling nostalgic at the Screen Actors Guild Awards. While the best actress winner reminisced about her old soap opera days, we couldn't help but think back to our favorite '90s hunks – probably because the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles was full of them Sunday night.
