Mourners Say Goodbye to Idol's Alexis Cohen

About 100 mourners attended the traditional graveside funeral Friday in Allentown, Pa., of former American Idol contestant Alexis Cohen, who was killed by a hit-and-run driver last weekend in Seaside Heights, NJ.
"I was shocked, stunned and mortified when I found out," says ex-boyfriend James Kern, 27, who dated Cohen on-and-off for the last nine years.
Daniel Bark, 23, is being held on $150,000 bail and on suicide watch in the Ocean County Jail. He was charged with aggravated manslaughter, death by vehicular homicide and leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident stemming from his arrest last weekend.

Idol Judge Kara DioGuardi Got Engaged in Her Pajamas

Kara DioGuardi's engagement was both romantic – think candles and a Mexican vacation – and humorous.
"I was in, of course, my thermal smiley-face pajamas that one of my best friends gave me for Christmas," recalls the new American Idol judge of getting engaged on her 38th birthday in December.
DioGuardi says her fiancé Mike McCuddy, 34, lit some candles before popping the first of two questions.
"He said, 'I have a question: Do you know where my shoes are?'" she told reporters at FOX's Television Critics Association after-party on Tuesday.

Will Paula Abdul Stay on Idol?

After blaming American Idol producers for letting a stalker get close to her, Paula Abdul's future on the show is being discussed.
One month after alleged stalker Paula Goodspeed died from an apparent suicide in front of the Idol judge's Hollywood home, an emotional Abdul slammed the show's producers, blaming them for letting Goodspeed audition for the show's fifth season.
During an interview earlier this week with Barbara Walters, Abdul, 46, claimed she warned producers about Goodspeed. "I said, 'This girl is a stalker of mine. Please do not let her in.' Everyone knew. I was shaking."

Former American Idol contestant Paula Goodspeed, whose car was found outside Paula Abdul's house with a body inside, expressed great admiration for Abdul at the Season 5 audition.
"I really like Paula Abdul a lot. She's really cool," said Goodspeed when asked about her inspiration during the Idol audition process. "I'm a really big fan, and I made life-sized drawings of Paula. I've been drawing ever since I was a little kid, and my first drawing was of Paula Abdul."
Goodspeed, dressed in shades of pink for her audition, sang "Proud Mary" before Abdul, Randy Jackson and Simon Cowell – but did not make it to Hollywood. Her performance was panned.
"I'm sorry, Paula," said Abdul.
"It's not over," said Goodspeed at the time. "I'm not going to stop singing just because you don't like my voice."

What's harder – belting out hits on American Idol or singing the national anthem before an NBA playoff game?
"The nerves are way worse [than on
Idol]," David Cook told reporters moments before his Tuesday night rendition of "The Star-Spangled Banner." "It's the one song you don't want to mess up. I'm going to try not to notice Jack Nicholson sitting in the front row and think about the lyrics."
The only saving grace about his performance before game three of the Celtics-Lakers NBA championship series?
"No matter what I do, I don't have Simon [Cowell] telling me how dreadful it was," the 25-year-old joked.
