According to J.K. Rowling, Hermione made the wrong choice: In an interview conducted by actress Emma Watson, the young-adult author admitted that she regretted pairing off the brainy mudblood with Ron Weasley, a goofy ginger, instead of heroic warrior of destiny Harry Potter.

"For reasons that have very little to do with literature and far more to do with me clinging to the plot as I first imagined it, Hermione ended up with Ron," Rowling said in the pages of British magazine Wonderland.

J.K. Rowling Confesses: Hermione Should Have Ended Up with Harry, Not Ron

Hold on to your Sorting Hats, Potterheads: J.K. Rowling has just rocked your world.

In a new interview, the Harry Potter author, 48, admits she regrets not having Harry and indispensable friend Hermione Granger get together at the end of the series, rather than Hermione and fellow BFF Ron Weasley.

(Excerpts of the interview were just published in the UK Sunday Times.) "That's how it was conceived, really. For reasons that have very little to do with literature and far more to do with me clinging to the plot as I first imagined it, Hermione ended up with Ron."

Muggles may not be able to have their Christmas cards delivered by owls, but the new Harry Potter stamps from the U.S. Postal Service are a close second.

The United States Post Office recently began offering Forever Stamps emblazoned with the faces of Harry, Hermione, Ron and the rest of the cast of the Harry Potter films. There are 20 different stamps in the new collection, meaning that Potter fans will have plenty of choices when it comes to deciding whether friends should get Slytherin or Hufflepuff stamps on their greeting cards. You can even send Grandma a thank you card with a Lord Voldemort stamp on it if her present warrants such treatment.
