Peter Facinelli's skyrocketing success as Dr. Carlisle Cullen in the hit Twilight series – and as Dr. Fitch Cooper on Showtime's Nurse Jackie – hasn't changed the down-to-earth star – but he has allowed himself one special treat: "I bought a Tesla S Model!"

The actor, who has been working for more than a decade in Hollywood, suddenly finds himself starring in one of the hottest franchises around, but he says, "I've always had work and that's always been a good thing, so there's nothing really new there."

"But, I did buy a new car, which I am excited about," Facinelli, 36, told PEOPLE at TwiCon 2009, a Twilight fan gathering in Dallas, last week. "It's a coupe sedan. It's all electric. It's beautiful."

After replacing Rachelle Lefevre with Bryce Dallas Howard for the third installment of the Twilight film series – and hearing an earful about how "stunned" and "hurt" Lefevre is – Summit Entertainment is defending its decision, and telling the ousted actress that she has no reason to be surprised, considering that it's her fault.

"We at Summit Entertainment are disappointed by Rachelle Lefevre's recent comments which attempt to make her career choices the fault of the studio," a press statement reads. "Her decision to discuss her version of the scheduling challenges publicly has forced the studio to set the record straight and correct the facts."

Twilight fans weren't the only ones surprised by the news that Bryce Dallas Howard was replacing Rachelle Lefevre on the third film Eclipse.

"I was stunned," says Lefevre in a statement. "I was fully committed to the Twilight saga."

Lefevre, who played villain Victoria in the first Summit Entertainment-produced film and its upcoming sequel New Moon, said she turned down "several other film opportunities" and accepted only roles with short shooting schedules to make time for Eclipse.

Report: Dakota Fanning Offered Role in Twilight Sequel

Dakota Fanning may be joining the dark side of Twilight.

The 14-year-old star, who turns 15 next month, has reportedly been offered the villainous role of Jane, a petite, yet deadly member of Italy’s Volturi coven in the film adaptation of author Stephenie Meyer’s second book, New Moon.

"There were no auditions," a source tells E! Online. "They just offered it to her outright, and now they’re in negotiations. They’ve been going back and forth."

While fans have been petitioning online for the teen actress to join the cast of New Moon, Fanning isn't a stranger to the supernatural: she plays a clairvoyant in the sci-fi thriller Push (due Feb. 6) alongside Chris Evans and Camilla Belle.

Was there more to Twilight than meets the eye? Camilla Belle certainly thinks so.

Belle says that Robert Pattinson, who portrayed the sexy vampire lead in the hit film opened up to her about the stresses of required "media training."

"My friend Rob, for that whole Twilight nonsense, the studio was having them take all these classes," the 22-year-old actress tells Nylon magazine in its February issue. "It was the most frustrating thing in the world because they want you to speak like someone else, not yourself. It's so silly. And I would be frustrated, too."

"I have been working out. I've been working out since the day we finished filming Twilight. I just weighed myself today; I've put on 19 lbs.," Lautner told MTV on Wednesday night at the Hollywood Foreign Press Association's Salute to Young Hollywood party.

Although Summit Entertainment has yet to give him the job, Lautner, 16, is the overwhelming favorite among fans to return over reported candidate Michael Copon of Scorpion King 2, according to a PEOPLE poll.

And Lautner says he's meeting this week with director Chris Weitz to make – and show – his case.
