She's made the reality television leap from singing on season 5 of American Idol to tearing up the parquet each week on Dancing with the Stars, but even Kellie Pickler thinks there's an Idol alum she'd rather see getting fake tanned and sequined.
Katharine McPhee "would do amazing," Pickler told PEOPLE while at the 20th Annual Race to Erase MS event in Beverly Hills.
The "Best Days of Your Life" singer doesn't have to stretch her imagination too far to explain why she feels the Smash actress would dominate on Dancing with the Stars.
"First of all, she's an amazing performer – obviously a very talented singer," says Pickler, 26, "but if you've seen her show Smash, she's dancing. I really don't think there's anything she can't do."

Smash is back! And NBC's musical about musicals is delivering a new diva – and even more drama – in season 2.
After a solid preview in Boston, the cast of the Marilyn Monroe musical Bombshell – including dueling divas Karen Cartwright (Katharine McPhee) and Ivy Lynn (Megan Hilty) – are back in the Big Apple and hoping to make their Broadway debut at the fabled St. James Theatre.
But opening isn't going to be easy: Bombshell producer Eileen Rand's ex-husband launches a plan to make her funding disappear and close down the show. While Eileen (Anjelica Huston) and her team, director Derek Wills (Jack Davenport) and writers Julia Houston (Debra Messing) and Tom Levitt (Christian Borle), do their best to keep up appearances, Smash's characters deal with a variety of other problems.

That's one way to spice up a workday!
Katharine McPhee showed up to the Smash set in New York City on Thursday with her constant companions in tow, Chihuahuas Larry and Nena.
The brunette beauty modeled a studded headpiece and sparkly dress for the day's scenes, but the dogs stood out as her best accessories.

Following the sad news on Thursday that disco legend Donna Summer lost her battle with cancer, celebrity fans have expressed their appreciation for the singer.
"So shocking to hear about the passing of Donna Summer," Aretha Franklin said in a statement. "In the '70s, she reigned over the disco era and kept the disco jumping. Who will forget, 'Last Dance?' [She was] a fine performer and a very nice person."
Barbra Streisand said she was "shocked" to hear about the death of Summer, 63, who never let on to the public that she was so sick.

Katharine McPhee is hot, hot, hot – not just because of her starring role on the new hit TV show Smash, but because of her sexy, svelte figure, too.
The American Idol alum, 27, opens up to SELF magazine about her busy life and how she stays in bikini-ready shape.
McPhee arrives on set every morning at 6 a.m. ready to get in hair and makeup. But before she puts on her Marilyn Monroe wig, she eats a balanced breakfast of oatmeal and turkey bacon. McPhee's dream breakfast? The "four cheese omelet, crispy turkey bacon, fresh OJ and wheat toast with butter and jam" from Todd English's Ca Va.

With Monday's premiere of NBC's heavily promoted Smash, season-five American Idol alum Katharine McPhee finally got to show herself off as a triple threat: singer, dancer, actor.
While her vocalizing had already helped give her fans something called McPhever, and her acting chops were put on display in the 2008 movie comedy House Bunny, the performer still harbored some pre-Smash regrets for some roles that got away. Specifically, one in the biggest comedy of 2009.
"It was between me and the girl who got it for The Hangover [as] the bride," McPhee, 27, recently told PEOPLE. After meeting with director Todd Phillips, "I didn't get it, but I went all the way. I would have loved to play that part."
