Courteney Cox and Costars Laugh Off Cougar Town Dating Rumors

Laughter is the best medicine.
That's what Courteney Cox and her Cougar Town costars realized after the star separated from husband David Arquette last year, especially when lots of false dating rumors began swirling around – specifically linking Cox, 46, to costars Brian Van Holt and Josh Hopkins.
"I don't think that [Josh and Brian] were quite used to it," Cox told PEOPLE at "An Evening with Cougar Town," a tribute to the show held by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences on Wednesday in L.A. "For sure, they weren't used to it! And I'm kind of so used to hearing about my dating, I don't care."
Hopkins, who plays Cox's love interest on the show, admitted he was blindsided by the sudden flurry of speculation, especially after he vacationed with Cox in St. Barts recently, but didn't take it too seriously.
"It's really been very easy to laugh off," said Hopkins, 40. "She's been in the limelight for so long she doesn't think twice about it. She does not live her life in fear of what people might say."

Following the recent emergence of vacation photos of Cougar Town actor Josh Hopkins with costar Courteney Cox and her 6-year-old daughter Coco, Hopkins is now setting the record straight about the exact nature of their relationship.
"There [were] a lot of people with us, but we're the only ones you see [in the photos]," Hopkins, 40, tells Access Hollywood about the getaway that set off a media frenzy. "They just frame us two, so it's a story. It's not true."

Do you want to talk to Courteney Cox and the cast of Cougar Town? Well, just pick up the phone!
During a special episode of the ABC comedy airing Monday, April 18 (9:30 p.m. ET), fans will have a chance to call in and talk to Cox and her Cougar Town costars.
At some point in the episode, a telephone number will be revealed by one of the characters during the show's dialogue. As soon as the number is metioned (set your DVRs if you don't want to miss it!), fans can call in.

Courteney Cox and 6-year-old daughter Coco were seen Tuesday on the Caribbean sands with Cox's Cougar Town costar Josh Hopkins.
It's the latest sighting of Cox, 46, with Hopkins, 40, since her separation last October from husband David Arquette – they were spotted in Hawaii filming a scene in the pool and in the surf, but in those instances they were on location for the show.

Courteney Cox has a new accessory of sorts.
The Cougar Town star was spotted walking around the set of her ABC show Thursday with the help of a cane.
So what's up? Cox, it turns out, has a bum knee thanks to a recent surgery.
"The minor knee surgery was planned," a rep for the actress tells PEOPLE. "[The cane] will be written into one episode of Cougar Town but will not affect the production schedule at all."

Courteney Cox has had a difficult few months, but the Cougar Town star has turned to work to help get her the rough patch in her personal life.
"Thank God for the show," the actress, who is going through a separation from husband David Arquette, said at this week's Television Critics Association gathering. "There have been times when Bill [Lawrence, the director] has said, 'Are you all right? Do we need to take a break?' I'm like, 'Are you kidding? This is my saving grace.' "
Cox, 46, who recently threw her support behind Arquette after he checked into rehab, acknowledges her life has been "crazy."

Courteney Cox's Cougar Town boasts an energetic ensemble – but even off-camera, the cast acts like a family.
"We are quite lucky to have her as one of our ringleaders," Brian Van Holt, who plays Cox's friendly ex husband, tells PEOPLE of the actress. "And the rest of the cast is really close. We are lucky that they are who they are, and I'm glad to have that relationship and trust and support."
In fact, Van Holt, 41, counts Cox, 46, as one of his best friends. "It's a good friendship," he says, "and very healthy for the environment that we're working in."

A sampling of life in the Hollywood rumor mill has left Cougar Town's Josh Hopkins with a bad taste in his mouth.
In particular, the actor is still dismayed by a tabloid report that he wooed and then rejected Jennifer Aniston – a fabrication he says spread like "wildfire" after an innocent dinner in September with his actress friend.
"That was really, really weird and hurtful," Hopkins, 40, tells Parade. "I've been working in this business for a long time, and it's the first time I've ever found myself caught up in the middle of tabloid journalism."

Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox are reunited!
Wednesday's premiere of Cougar Town brought the former Friends stars together for a number of short, funny scenes.
Aniston plays Jules's "great new shrink," who's helping her get through some personal challenges – her son Travis is going away to college and her boyfriend Grayson wants to spend 24 hours apart – with comparisons to her own life.
"Glenn is a professional," Jules says of her sage-burning therapist. "I told her how tight I was with Travis and now she bases our entire therapy on this incredible relationship she has with her own son, Gabriel."
