Thomas Jane's character Ray has serviced a number of ladies on HBO's racy series Hung, but his latest client, the beautiful Kyla, has a secret past.
Actress Jamie Clayton, who plays the strawberry blonde with the raspy voice and enviable set of gams, shares more than striking features with her character: They're both women who happen to be transgender.
"Obviously this storyline is different for Hung," Clayton tells PEOPLE of her surprising character. Kyla is a receptionist at a suicide prevention call center who first requests Ray's services on the episode airing Sunday (10 p.m. ET). "The writers really just trumped all of the things that I knew were going to bother people [about Kyla]."

Thomas Jane, who plays male prostitute Ray Drecker on HBO's Hung, isn't afraid to strip down for his role. In fact, he does it in the opening credits of the show. Go figure.
Now, ahead of season 3 (which premieres Oct. 2 at 10 p.m.), Jane is at it again, this time showing off his hairy, well toned chest and his signature smirk on new promotional art.
In the new season, business is booming – "He's working harder than ever," the poster reads. But just when it looks like Ray is catching a break, he's getting competition from a younger, good-looking working man named Jason, played by Stephen Amell. Let the games begin.

Ana Ortiz is thinking blue for baby number two!
The former Ugly Betty star and husband Noah Lebenzon are expecting their second child, the couple tell Latina.
"We know it's a boy! [We] are trying to come up with some names that we can agree on,” Ortiz, 40, shares.
High on the list of contenders? Names that work in both English and Spanish, much like the one given to daughter Paloma Louise, 23 months.
"It has to be Spanish, but something non-speakers can pronounce without mauling," Ortiz explains. "Suggestions? I'm open."
