Sarah Hyland Reveals She Had a Kidney Transplant

Sarah Hyland is young, beautiful and on a hit TV show – but the Modern Family actress has been quietly battling a serious illness.
Hyland, 21, has had a lifelong battle with kidney dysplasia and underwent a kidney transplant on April 13, 2012, she reveals in the new issue of Seventeen, on newsstands May 22.
The actress, who got the kidney from her father and gave the interview while recovering from surgery, says the whole experience taught her who she can really lean on in times of need.

Chaz Bono was in good company at the GLAAD Media Awards on Saturday night.
His mom Cher showed up to support her son at the event in Los Angeles.
"So much fun at Glaad awards!" the singer Tweeted. "I really surprised Chaz! HE was adorable,Said wow mom i was so surprised i forgot what i was going 2say!"
Bono, who was the first transgender contestant on Dancing with the Stars, was honored for his OWN documentary, Becoming Chaz, and with the Stephen F. Kolzak Award, which is given by GLAAD to a gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender entertainer for promoting equality.

While attending PaleyFest 2012 on Wednesday, Sofia Vergara revealed she's as equally unnerved by French bulldog Stella as her onscreen counterpart, Gloria Pritchett – thanks to a little ribbing by show creator Steven Levitan.
"It's not that I hate the dog!" she said. "It's that I'm not used to having a little dog on top of me and licking."

Sofia Vergara's son is giving away the answer to one of the biggest curiosities surrounding his mom – is her thick Columbian accent fake?
Manolo Gonzalez-Ripoll Vergara, 19, developed what he calls, Mi Vida Con Toty, a "documentary" about the Modern Family star, 39, that he introduced on the YouTube channel for Spanish web series NuevOn.
In the clip, Manolo says, "Something that many of you question all the time: her accent – is it real?"

Sofia Vergara Thinking About Freezing Her Eggs

As Sofia Vergara faces the big 4-0 in July, she's not quite ready to start a family with boyfriend Nick Loeb.
But it's on her to-do list: "I guess I am going to think about freezing my eggs," the Modern Family bombshell tells InStyle in its April issue.
In the meantime, she's also not racing down the aisle with Loeb, with whom she first stepped out in 2010.
"The most important thing was that he was very handsome," the Colombian actress says about her initial attraction to the businessman. "But he was also very funny, talking s––– to me like a normal person."

Sofia Vergara and boyfriend Nick Loeb enjoyed a laughter-filled lunch at Caffé Roma in Beverly Hills The twosome were seated in the middle of the restaurant, and Loeb kept the Modern Family star in stitches during their meal. Says an onlooker: "They were absolutely adorable, and it was clear that Sofia didn't want the lunch to end." One reason for her constant chuckling? Loeb did a dead-on impression of his girlfriend, says the onlooker.

Could there be an (on-screen) wedding in their future?
Modern Family stars Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Eric Stonestreet, who play partners Mitchell and Cameron on the Emmy-winning ABC comedy, posted a photo of themselves on their WhoSay pages, asking, "How could you not want to see us tie the knot?" just as it appeared they may be closer to legally being able to do so.
On Tuesday, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that California's Proposition 8, which bans same-sex marriage in the state, was unconstitutional.
Ferguson also Tweeted: "Historic! #Prop8 is unconstitutional. @AFER & I won’t stop until ALL Americans are #free2marry."
On the show, their characters also have a daughter together, Lily, but are not officially married.

It was the bleeped-out toddler f-bomb heard around the world.
Lily, the 2-year-old daughter of Mitchell and Cameron on ABC's Modern Family, uttered the expletive (more than once, including repeatedly during a church wedding) on Wednesday's episode, as part of a plotline dramatizing the challenges parents face when their children start cursing.
Aubrey Anderson-Emmons, who is actually 4, plays Lily, and was reportedly asked to say the word "fudge" during the taping. But that hasn't stopped critics from blasting the network for the episode.

It's a familiar motif of the awards season speech: The winner steps up to the podium and tells the kids at home that they should be asleep, not watching TV.
That was just the plan for Modern Family star Jesse Tyler Ferguson, who told Ryan Seacrest on the Golden Globes red carpet that he had a message for one of his little ones – Morkie pup, Leaf.
"You be good, Leaf, and go to bed," Ferguson said. "That's what I'm going to say when I win. Oh wait – I wasn't nominated."

Wardrobe malfunctions come with the territory when it comes to awards show, but lucky for Modern Family star Sarah Hyland, a close encounter with her gown didn't take a turn for the worst (or the worst-dressed list!).
Before the Golden Globes even began, the actress, 21, says the zipper on her dress broke.
"It just felt kind of like an explosion in my back," Hyland told E! host Giuliana Rancic on the pre-Golden Globes red carpet outside the Beverly Hilton Hotel. "And then I felt my dress start to slip, and I grabbed it before it was too late."
