As Dr. Startz, Liberace's plastic surgeon, in Behind the Candelabra, Rob Lowe revealed an astonishing physical transformation.
"I wanted him to be at once repellant and engaging, if that's possible. He reminded me of a certain genus and species of guy that you would see at Laker games during the Magic Johnson era," Lowe told EW.com.
Lowe, 49, adds that the transformation – which took an hour and 45 minutes every day – involved several makeup tests to get the look and feel of the doctor's face just right.

Catherine Zeta-Jones is home from treatment for her Bipolar II disorder, after having checked herself into a facility last month for what her husband described as a "10,000 mile check-up."
The Oscar-winning actress was spotted out driving in New York on Tuesday.
Zeta-Jones, 43, bravely revealed her diagnosis in 2011, telling PEOPLE at the time, "This is a disorder that affects millions of people and I am one of them."
She continued, "If my revelation of having Bipolar II has encouraged one person to seek help, then it is worth it. There is no need to suffer silently and there is no shame in seeking help."
