Attention Orange is the New Black fans: The Ladies of Litchfield are back for a brand-new season.

"The beauty of this show is how we straddle the line between comedy and drama," Taylor Schilling, who stars as Piper Chapman on the prison-based series, tells PEOPLE. "It's a true ensemble. In season two, we'll see how Piper's story continues, but the show also gets wider and deeper to tell the stories of even more of the women."

In addition to Schilling, other fan favorites – including new dad Jason Biggs, Laura Prepon, Kate Mulgrew and Taryn Manning – will return, while newcomer Lorraine Toussaint joins the cast as inmate Yvonne "Vee" Parker.

Laura Prepon Is Leaving Orange Is the New Black

Laura Prepon has flown the coop.

Orange is the New Black, the Netflix original series that takes place in a women's prison, will lose one of its central characters, inmate Alex, played by Laura Prepon, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

While Prepon, 33, will no longer be a series regular, she still will return for season 2 in order to tie up any loose ends in her storyline. There also remains the possibility of a comeback in the future, says the trade publication.

"Our season is still developing and nothing is confirmed," a Netflix rep said in a statement. Season 2 of the series is currently in production.
