Jeff Probst has had many adventures as host of Survivor, such as hacking out of the Vanuatu brush, skydiving over the California desert and zooming into this season's finale on a big hog (motorcycle, that is). So who knew the biggest adventure for Probst would be embracing a new love?

It's been largely a battle of the sexes this season, but as Survivor: Vanuatu – Islands of Fire heads to a final showdown Dec. 12, all loyalties are off. In competition for the $1 million prize are Chris Daugherty, Scout Cloud Lee, Twila Tanner and Eliza Orlin. Sunday is judgment day for Survivor: Vanuatu, which on Thursday night paved the way for its two-hour finale with the elimination of Julie Berry, the 23-year-old youth mentor from Gorham, Maine, in a 3-2 decision.

She was the Great Manipulator, Survivor: Vanuatu's female answer to first season winner Richard Hatch – only she didn't last as long. Lakewood, Colo., barista Ami Cusack, 31, became the second target of the newly struck alliance among Eliza, Scout, Twila and Chris, getting booted off this week in a 4-2 vote. Cusack talked to PEOPLE about fighting to the end and rewarding herself with some fine dining.

The tables have turned on Survivor: Vanuatu – Islands of Fire. With a 4-3 vote, Leann Slaby, 35, became the first female in five episodes to be sent home as the women broke their previously tight alliance.
