He coaches singles who will search to the ends of the earth for their soulmates, but Bachelorette host Chris Harrison, 41, doesn't have to look farther than his feet for the love of his life.
The recently single father of two – son Joshua is 11 and daughter Taylor is 9 – tells PEOPLE that his 2-year-old Havanese is the perfect partner.
"Baxter is the love of our life," says Harrison, who also hosts The Bachelor. "I was never a small-dog person, but I am now."

After a week of deceit and drama, a new location is all I needed to start fresh on The Bachelorette. As soon as we arrived in Atlantic City, I could feel a different energy. I was excited to be in a place I had never been before – and I was really excited to see the guys!

Most of the time the tears belong to women scorned. But Brandon Andreen, 26, challenged that stereotype during his courtship of Desiree Hartsock. And things got especially emotional when the arrival of a jilted single mom dredged up Andreen's abandonment issues.
The painting contractor, 26, spoke with reporters via telephone from Costa Mesa, Calif., about crying on TV, the scandal over Brian's alleged ex-girlfriend and why he thinks Brooks is the best guy for Desiree.

I absolutely loved having two group dates this week on The Bachelorette! It was really important to have as much time as possible with each guy so I could see if there was a connection or not, in order to make my decision at the rose ceremony.

Single dad Ben Scott, 29, is already making enemies for interrupting another suitor's chat with aspiring bridal designer Desiree, despite already having a rose.
Scott, a Dallas-based entrepreneur, spoke with reporters on a conference call Thursday to discuss smooching the Bachelorette, bringing his son on the show and possibly being this season's snake.

After a wonderful first night meeting the men on The Bachelorette, I was extremely anxious and excited to see what kind of connections I could form. I had great conversations with almost everyone and although it was a little overwhelming, I felt good about picking the guys for my first dates. After seeing the men in their suits, I was most looking forward to seeing them in casual clothes to get a better idea of who they are

Driving up the windy road in Malibu to where I would be starting a new chapter as The Bachelorette, I had no idea what to expect. When Chris Harrison showed me my new home, I was awed by the enchanting view of the ocean. I find solace and peace at the beach, so having such an amazing view of it made me feel right at home and ready to begin this journey.
Never in a million years did I think I would have an opportunity to meet 25 eligible bachelors in the hopes of finding love, so I was more than excited to get that first night started!

The limo arrivals on the first night of The Bachelorette are always fun to watch because you never know what kind of antics the guys will employ in an attempt to get a first-impression rose.
Ben Scott may have them all beat.
The entrepreneur from Lubbock, Texas, sent his adorable son Brody out of the limo before him to win over the show's latest star, Desiree Hartsock. And she was immediately smitten.
"Oh my gosh, are you adorable," Hartsock says in an exclusive clip of Monday's Bachelorette premiere (8 p.m. ET). "You are so cute." (Watch below.)

Sitting down for an interview on a sunny afternoon in L.A., Meredith Phillips can't help but complain about those last 10 lbs. she'd like to lose. As a former model and, most notably, the star of The Bachelorette in 2004, she'll admit she's a little hard on herself.
"I need to get back in the gym. I should really be taking better care of myself," she says. "But I really can only focus on one thing at a time right now."
Her primary focus has been far more challenging than logging time on a treadmill. Until six months ago, Phillips, 39, was in the throes of alcoholism. Now, she's more than 150 days sober and still struggling to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
