Ellen DeGeneres offered the perfect birthday present to supermodel Heidi Klum for her upcoming 40th – a red hat made out of a life preserver.
DeGeneres offered the hat to Klum, who appeared on the talk show Friday to talk about her harrowing experience in Hawaii last month where she saved her son, Henry, 7, and two nannies from dangerous waters while vacationing with her family and boyfriend Martin Kristen.
The America's Got Talent judge said her pal Nancy was throwing a hat party to celebrate her 40th birthday on June 1. So DeGeneres delivered a gag chapeau, replete with net and seaweed ribbon trailing down the back.

Though the day may be far off, Ellen DeGeneres can see herself and wife Portia de Rossi moving far away – to de Rossi's birthplace, Australia.
"I shouldn't put it out there," DeGeneres, 55, told a crowd in Melbourne, "but I can see us living here one day," reports Australia's News Limited.
"I've wanted to come to Australia for a long, long time, before meeting Portia," the talk-show host also said.

Ellen DeGeneres has been known to hand out underwear with her show's name on it to her famous guests. And McGraw, who makes an appearance on Tuesday's episode, is seen wearing them in a photo taken while he was out for a jog.
"Are you wearing them right now?" DeGeneres asked the sexy country star, 45, who appeared on the latest issue of PEOPLE.
"No," McGraw answered.

It's all about the little things for newlywed Jessica Biel.
The Hitchcock star, 30, who tied the knot last month, says a huge perk of being married to Justin Timberlake is getting to use a certain seven-letter word.
"It's weird because it feels like almost nothing has changed, yet something that you can't really describe, or something that isn't tangible has changed," Biel says on The Ellen DeGeneres Show airing on Monday. "The weirdest and kind of most wonderful thing is that word. That's my husband."

As hints go, this one wasn't too subtle, seeing as Kelly Clarkson dropped it on national television.
Appearing Tuesday on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the pop star says she isn't engaged to her boyfriend of nine months, Brandon Blackstock, but just give it a little time.
"We are totally going to get married," says Clarkson. "We love each other. We are totally going to get married one day."
She then holds up her hand and says, "I mean, he's got to put a ring on at some point." She adds: "But I'll wait it out."

Dating? No. Wanting kids? Yes.
"Eventually" is Rihanna's first reaction to the question about becoming a mom, before she quickly blurts out, "I mean, absolutely."
The inquisitor, in this case, is Ellen DeGeneres, in an interview on Wednesday's The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
And the talk-show host asks the singer, 24, whose private life (with or without Chris Brown) is seldom without fascination, "Would you do it alone, or do you want to wait until you’re in a relationship or married?"

Robert Pattinson knows how to handle a curveball, but arrested development? That's a different story.
When he adopted rescue puppy Bear from a Louisiana shelter, the Twilight star expected the dog to grow ... and keep growing.
"He was supposed to be a big man's dog," Pattinson explains on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in Friday's episode. "But he just kind of got stunted."

No butts about it: Ellen DeGeneres is a real crack-up!
The talk show host revealed her very cheeky costume during Wednesday's Halloween-themed episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, dressing up as Modern Family star Sofia Vergara, whose slinky green Zuhair Murad gown infamously split along her rear during the Emmys.
"I am easy breezy beautiful CoverGirl from Colombia. Happy Halloween. As you can see, I put my pumpkins out," DeGeneres, who is also a CoverGirl, said, affecting Vergara's accent. "I get so much work with this fake accent," she added.
