Kerry Washington has graced countless magazine covers including a recent issue of PEOPLE. But who knew she was the covergirl for Chess Masters and Kale Quarterly?
Those funny, far-flung – and fake – magazines were among several that Ellen DeGeneres mocked up with images of the Scandal star to surprise her during an interview airing Thursday on Ellen.
"This is a nightmare," she says. "They're all here."
Amid fits of laughter, the expecting actress, 36, had comebacks to each of the magazines.

It will be a December to remember for James Franco, thanks to Ellen DeGeneres and her Photoshop skills!
The actor, 35, shared a hilarious photo on Instagram on Wednesday showing his face superimposed on the body of a shirtless hunk in red underwear and a Santa hat, with a similarly festive cat sitting on his shoulder.
Apparently it was the work of DeGeneres, who seems to have made Franco the unwitting star of a mildly racy holiday calendar.

Who needs months of planning? All Kaley Cuoco needs is a veil, a tennis-ball necklace and about 30 seconds – and she's married!
That's how it goes down in a segment Thursday on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, in which DeGeneres surprises The Big Bang Theory actress by bringing in her fiancé, Ryan Sweeting, and orchestrating a quickie wedding for them on stage.
Cuoco, 27, laughs hysterically as her tennis-player beau sheepishly asks at one point: "This isn't legal, right?"

It's not easy to keep the romance alive when you're miles apart, but Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman work hard at making their relationship strong despite their hectic schedules.
The country star and American Idol judge, appearing on Monday's The Ellen DeGeneres Show, happily reveals just how he and his wife of seven years stay in touch.
"We just make it work," says Urban, 45, who is currently juggling touring with his Idol duties, while Kidman, 46, is shooting a movie in London. (The couple's two kids, Sunday, 5, and Faith, 2, are in the U.K. with Kidman.)
"We never text, we never email," he says. "Phone calls only, which I really love that."
He then owns up to DeGeneres that he and Kidman occasionally send other messages.

Pamela Anderson announced last month that she would run the upcoming New York City Marathon for charity. And it sounds as though Anderson will have one extra-special fan cheering her on: ex-husband Rick Salomon.
During an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show Thursday, the actress, 46, revealed that she and Salomon, 45, are "best friends ... with benefits."
When DeGeneres joked about how Anderson keeps "going back to the same guys," the actress quipped: "It’s recycling … No, I'm very happy. We’re happy. He's a great guy."

In the month since Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth ended their engagement, the singer has talked a lot about her new album, Bangerz, but very little about her breakup.
"I think people spend more time actually thinking about it than I really do," the "Wrecking Ball" singer says on Friday's The Ellen DeGeneres Show. "I just believe when a chapter is done, you have to close it and start that new one. That's kind of where I am right now."

Kate Hudson, who got engaged to Matt Bellamy in April 2011, still hasn't revealed a date for the nuptials – and she's feeling the pressure from one special wedding guest in particular.
Her son Ryder, who'll be 10 in January, has apparently been giving his mom a bit of grief about it.
"I think he looks forward to more the party than actually the idea of us getting married," the actress, 34, says in an interview airing Tuesday on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. "He seems to, like, have it really planned out what he's wearing."

Daniel Radcliffe is best known for playing boy wizard Harry Potter, but there's something else he's getting a reputation for – taking off his clothes.
The actor, who shocked fans when he appeared naked on Broadway in Equus in 2008, has stripped down in three movies this year – and shared a bathtub with Jon Hamm on TV – but he told Ellen DeGeneres on Friday that his nude streak was "not intentional."
"I'm comfortable with it, but I do like to point out, I don't request it," he jokes.

Amanda Seyfried has never been shy about her love of Australian shepherd Finn – just check out her Twitter! – and it seems people are noticing.
"Let's talk about your dog. Now I love animals, everyone knows that I love animals. Your relationship with your dog is borderline," Ellen DeGeneres tells the Epic actress during a Thursday appearance on her talk show.
"Oh yeah, I know," responds Seyfried, 27. "He's with me right now. He's actually backstage. I really can't go many places without him."

A little too friendly?
That was the scene for Jennifer Aniston when she sought some impromptu hosting advice from her former Friends costar Matthew Perry in a funny new skit to promote her Wednesday gig as co-host of The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
In the clip (watch it below), Aniston knocks Perry's door to get some tips from her former castmate, who also has co-hosted the show.
"We haven't actually seen each other in like a really long time, 8 years. ... You really should have called," said a nervous Perry, who looked on sheepishly as their mutual pal and former costar Courteney Cox emerges from his house after an obvious sleepover.
