CBS will rely on another European to keep up the laughs in late night.
British actor-comedian James Corden, 36, will take over as the new host of The Late Late Show in 2015, replacing the Scotland-born Craig Ferguson, who announced in April that he'll step down from the late-night show that he's hosted for the past 10 years.
Ferguson's final broadcast will be in December.

Craig Ferguson confronted Jason Alexander about a taboo topic Tuesday night: his hairpiece.
"I do standup comedy called 'An Evening With Jason Alexander and His Hair,'" Alexander explained to Ferguson. "The hair has billing and an agent and I had to wear it on your show."
"It cost a bloody fortune," he added.

Kaley Cuoco plans to invite "a lot" of people to her upcoming wedding to tennis pro Ryan Sweeting, but The Big Bang Theory actress says she'd actually be much happier if most of her guests were of the four-legged variety.
"I'm a big animal freak. I'd rather the animals be there than real people," Cuoco laughingly told Craig Ferguson during an appearance Wednesday on The Late Late Show. "The whole farm's going to be at our wedding."
The avid horsewoman also revealed a secret desire for her wedding – to arrive on horseback.

It's a boy for Craig Ferguson and wife Megan.
Son Liam James Ferguson was born Monday, Jan. 31 in Los Angeles, a rep for The Late Late Show host confirms to PEOPLE exclusively.
"Everyone is happy and healthy," says the rep. "The family is doing great, everybody's perfect."
Ferguson, 48, and his wife, an art dealer, tied the knot in December 2008. Ferguson is already dad to Milo Hamish, 9, his son from a previous marriage.

It was her sparkly ring that caught his eye and he couldn't let it go.
Craig Ferguson tried mightily to tease an engagement announcement out of Oscar-winning actress Holly Hunter on CBS's The Late Late Show airing Thursday, but she would only drop hints.
Pointing to her left hand, Ferguson asked, "Do you have some news?" Hunter regarded the ring and then looked up at Ferguson with a smile, replying, "Well, you know…"
Ferguson pretended to drop the subject, then continued, "It's a bold statement right there." Hunter quickly added, "I know, isn't it, though? It's very bold, from a very confident man." But she wouldn't say more.
