Soap opera star Jeanne Cooper has died.
She was 84, CBS reports.
A network spokeswoman said Cooper's family told the network of her death. Her son Corbin Bernsen also confirmed Cooper's death via posts on Facebook and Twitter.

CBS soap The Young and the Restless leads the pack for the 40th annual Daytime Emmy awards with 23 nominations, the academy announced Wednesday. They are followed by ABC rival General Hospital with 19.
The award ceremony will be held June 16 in Beverly Hills, Calif., televised for the second year on the cable network HLN.
PBS' venerable children's show Sesame Street and the NBC soap opera Days of Our Lives both earned 17 nominations.

Francesco Quinn, a son of the late screen legend Anthony Quinn, died of an apparent heart attack near his Malibu home on Friday night, reports a local news site and other sources.
Quinn, 48, was reportedly running in the street with his son Max when he collapsed. A neighbor who attempted to revive him told the Malibu Patch: "We were working feverishly at it. But at a certain point it turned, and there was no response."
Paramedics were summoned, and Quinn was reportedly pronounced dead at the hospital.

Thanks to the help of a surrogate, The Young and the Restless star Michelle Stafford is expecting her first child this December.
Stafford, 43, who has won two Emmys for her role as scheming Phyllis Summers on the CBS daytime drama, tells PEOPLE that she relied on a surrogate after struggling through fertility treatments and surgeries.
"After a three-year journey through hell, I'm elated, ecstatic and feel ultimately lucky to be able to announce I'm expecting my own child via surrogate in December," Stafford says in a statement.
She also confirms that she's expecting a girl.
