"This is awesome, and I'm at a loss for words," True Detective director Cary Joji Fukunaga said while accepting the Emmy award for outstanding directing Monday night.
He was talking about his win, but he might have unintentionally been speaking for the thousands of viewers and fans of the show who never knew that Fukunaga was, well, so good-looking. Since the world was introduced to the man behind True Detective, the Internet has been positively awash with paeans to Fukunaga – including the jaw-dropping admission that he got his start working on the music video for Destiny Child's "Survivor," giving the night a much-needed dose of Beyoncé.

For many HBOGo users, Sunday night was a night of true disappointment.
Rabid fans of the elaborate, moody Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson-anchored drama True Detective swarmed to HBO's streaming service Sunday night in such droves, they literally broke the service.

If you thought it had something to do with Woody Harrelson's father-in-law – and this doesn't constitute a spoiler, because that was too off-base to ever be possible – you were wrong.
In fact, just about every theory that cropped up online speculating about the finale of HBO's terrific True Detective (and inspiring writers to mention the notorious ending of Lost) was wrong.
