Edward and Bella may become proud parents in the soon-to-be filmed Twilight: Breaking Dawn, but it's Nikki Reed who may be the most excited about the introduction of baby Renesmee.

"Selfishly, I'm really pleased with my relationship with this kid," the actress, 22, tells PEOPLE while attending a Cirque du Tacori event in Santa Monica, "but I really like the way it affects my relationship with Jacob."

Reed's character, Rosalie Hale, has always had a sizable chip on her shoulder when it comes to Taylor Lautner's shape-shifter, but after reading through the new scripts, Reed is looking forward to exploring her vampire's softer side.

Meanwhile, Foy, a 9-year-old actress with no feature-film experience, is close to taking the role of Renesmee, Edward and Bella's vampire/human love child, according to EW.com.

Peter Facinelli Supports Team Edward

Peter Facinelli is committed to his on-screen family.

As Carlislie, patriarch of the Cullen vampire clan in the Twilight series, Facinelli is firm when it comes to the Team Edward vs. Team Jacob debate.

"I'm Team Edward, because he's my son and I like to keep it in the family," the actor said during a video chat series for Tom's of Maine's New Wicked Fresh! Launch.

But the appeal of Edward – played by Robert Pattinson – goes beyond Facinelli's familial ties to the character. "If I had no association with the films, I'd still be Team Edward," he says. "There's something interesting about living forever, having that eternity."

Want to Make Money in Hollywood? Be a Vampire

And to think, the screen's longtime Dracula, Bela Lugosi, died practically broke. But by a brand new count, the current vampire craze – on TV and in movies, books and merchandising – is estimated to be pumping some $7 billion (that's with a b) into the showbiz economy. Suddenly, money is flowing like blood.

Taking into account the $20 million box-office of this past weekend's batty Twilight parody Vampires Suck, the 5 million devotees of HBO's weekly True Blood, and the bestselling titles from authors Justin Cronin (The Passage), Stephenie Meyer (Breaking Dawn) and Charlaine Harris (Dead and Gone), the Hollywood Reporter estimates that in the past two years, bloodsuckers have pumped new life into Tinsel Town, creating what the trade paper terms an "entire inexhaustible industry."

Edward Cullen Strips Down in Twilight Spoof Film

It's a lot of pressure to walk in Robert Pattinson's footsteps as vampire heartthrob Edward Cullen, but somebody's got to do it.

Matt Lanter, the hunky actor who plays 90210's Liam Court, has stepped up to the plate to play Edward in the Twilight saga spoof, Vampires Suck.

But judging from Lanter's words, it sounds like the spoofed version will be a bit more racy than the original flicks. "I'm naked in the movie," the actor, 27, told PEOPLE at the Teen Choice Awards in L.A. on Sunday.

Breaking Dawn Screenwriter Votes for Showing Bella Giving Birth on Screen

It's a question that's hovered over the Twilight franchise for months: How will the filmmakers handle Bella's notoriously graphic childbirth scene in the movie version of Breaking Dawn?

Now, screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg has weighed in – and she's all for showing it on screen, though perhaps without some of the gorier details.

"The childbirth – all the scenes, I feel – should be on screen," Rosenberg tells PopSugar. "Would we actually see Edward's teeth through the placenta? I don't think so. I don't think we need to see that."

She adds with a laugh: "If someone needs to see that, I think they should take a look at that."

This weekend while Twilight fans are swooning over Taylor Lautner's abs and Robert Pattinson's vampire charm, they could be joined by an actual Eclipse star.

Peter Facinelli, who plays papa vampire Carlisle Cullen in the movie franchise, says that he and several costars plan to visit theaters on Friday to experience the Twilight mania with fans.

"What I love about the Twilight community is that it’s such a powerful thing to watch when people come together for a common cause," Facinelli, 36, told PEOPLE Wednesday while also promoting Glad's new initiative to support the non-profit Cookies for Kids Cancer. "I'm a fan of the book too, so when you all come together for the love of one thing, it's a really special feeling."

Peter Facinelli may have a playful Twitter persona, but that doesn't mean the actor who plays Eclipse's Dr. Carlisle Cullen is all funny business.

Recently, Facinelli, 36, had a particularly moving encounter with a fan, who approached him after her daughter's death.

"A woman whose daughter I met when I did an autograph signing came to a different autograph signing a year later and she showed me a picture of me and her daughter," the actor told PEOPLE at the Eclipse premiere in L.A. "She said, 'My daughter met you last year, and she passed away in a car accident. I just wanted you to know how much you impacted her life before she passed away. This picture meant the world to her.' "
