Vin Diesel Re-cuts His Rihanna Rendition

Vin Diesel: an action star and a gentleman.
After showing off his vocal range with a cover of Rihanna's "Stay" on Friday, The Fast and the Furious star is revealing the inspiration behind his touching performance (and his re-cut clip, below).
After seeing Rihanna perform the song at the Grammy Awards, Diesel, 45, decided to record himself singing the tune and dedicate it to his longtime girlfriend, Paloma Jimenez, in lieu of a traditional Valentine's Day card.
With the help of his daughter, Diesel obtained a mic and an amp while Jimenez was on a flight and "the rest is history," he tells PEOPLE.

Oscar Pistorius's Girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp Tweets Valentine's Day Messages Hours Before Her Death

Hours before her tragic death, Oscar Pistorius's girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, was clearly excited for Valentine's Day, posting several messages about the "day of love" on Twitter.
"What do you have up your sleeve for your love tomorrow???" she wrote in one post. In another, replying to a friend, she added: "It should be a day of love for everyone."
Steenkamp, 30, whom authorities believe was shot to death by Pistorius, 26 – though the details of the alleged murder remain unclear – also posted a photo Wednesday of a shake that the Paralympic champion had gotten her.
"It's a beautiful day! Make things happen," she wrote.

Who knew Ryan Seacrest was such a romantic? His girlfriend, Julianne Hough, tells PEOPLE he likes to go all out for Valentine's Day.
"[He likes] surprising me and ending up at a restaurant and having the place cleared out and rose petals and stuff like that," the actress, 24, said at Monday's Self magazine New York screening of her new movie Safe Haven. The gestures, she added, make her feel "so cute and special."
"Every year is really wonderful. The first two years were super romantic and like, over the top, because it was new," she said.

A little more than a week after Zac Efron and Lily Collins were spotted holding hands at STK restaurant in West Hollywood, the duo were out and about together once again.
Efron, 24, and the star of the upcoming Mirror Mirror, 22, were photographed leaving the Soho House in West Hollywood on Tuesday, which happened to be Valentine's Day.
As they left the hotspot, Efron, dressed in a blue button-down and black pants, trailed behind Collins, who wore an all-black ensemble paired with an ivory-colored jacket.

Maybe it was just the post-Valentine's Day buzz talking, but Khloé Kardashian says that if rumors that her big sister Kim Kardashian and Reggie Bush are rekindling their romance are true, she's, well, behind it.
"I love 'The Bush and The Tush,' " Kardashian, 27, told Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS-FM radio show on Wednesday. "You can't do much better than that."
But Kardashian said she could neither confirm nor deny that Kim, 31, and the 26-year-old Miami Dolphins running back were back on after two years apart and only a handful of months after her quickie marriage to Kris Humphries ended. (The two were spotted at lunch together on the patio of the Polo Lounge in the Beverly Hills Hotel on Sunday.)

Hugh Hefner to Give Girlfriends Lingerie for Valentine's Day

Hugh Hefner's New Year's resolution may be to remain a bachelor, but when it comes to another holiday, the Playboy mogul is all about being in love.
"I'm a romantic, and Valentine's Day is the holiday for the romantics," Hefner, 85, tells PEOPLE. "Love and attraction between the sexes makes the world go 'round. Some people think religion is the civilizing force, but I think love is the civilizing force."
Tuesdays at the Playboy Mansion are typically reserved for game nights consisting of Dominos and cards, but Hefner is making an exception this week in honor of the holiday, at the request of his girlfriends Shera Berchard and Anna Berglund.
"We're going out to dinner," he says. We're going to eat Italian. We're going to Valentino [restaurant in Santa Monica, Calif.]"

Kate Gets Flowers (and a Card) for Valentine's Day

Her husband may have been 7,500 miles away but the Duchess of Cambridge still received plenty of love on Valentine's Day.
William sent her a card and some flowers – and the people of Liverpool, England, added their bouquets and hugs on Tuesday.
During her 20-minute visit to Alder Hey Children's Hospital, Kate, in a chocolate brown overcoat by Hobbs and earrings by Niki McDonough, received flowers from onlookers and greeted (and hugged) some young admirers.
"She was brilliant," says Lyndsey Maclean, 36, whose daughter Katie, 9, also met the duchess. "You wouldn't think she hadn't been doing this for such a short time. She was friendly to everyone."

Married life is apparently quite sweet for Nikki Reed.
A few months after telling PEOPLE that marriage is "easy breezy" so far, Reed was given a thoughtful treat from hubby Paul McDonald just before the pair celebrate their first Valentine's Day as husband and wife.
The holiday "came a little early," Reed, 23, wrote on WhoSay Monday, in a post that included a photo of a chocolate heart-shaped cake topped with two pink frosting flowers.
Reed noted that the sugary gift from the American Idol alum – which read "Happy 4 Months" on top – was "a lot of calories."
