Christian Bale, once again, is unrecognizable.
The Oscar winner lost (gulp!) 60 lbs. for 2004's The Machinist, then bulked up and got ripped for Batman Begins before going back to being boney-thin for The Fighter, which netted him an Oscar in 2011 for Best Supporting Actor.
Now, he's gained 43 lbs. to play a '70s con artist in the Abscam-inspired crime drama American Hustle.
To fatten up, "I ate lots of doughnuts, a whole lot of cheeseburgers and whatever I could get my hands on. I literally ate anything that came my way," Bale, 39, told PEOPLE at Friday's Peggy Siegel and OPI screening of the buzzy film in New York City. "I was about 185 and went up to 228. I'm still working it off."

Miranda Lambert has a message for those who say she had surgery to lose weight.
The singer posted a letter to her fans on Monday blasting false reports regarding how she shed the pounds.
"Though I NEVER care what the tabloids have to say about me … I wanted to address this certain story they are running this week and set the record straight. I DID NOT have surgery to lose weight. That is ridiculous," she wrote.

For the past four months, Miranda Lambert has been working hard to make sure she gave herself a terrific 30th birthday present: a hot new figure!
The country star, who hit the milestone on Nov. 10, overhauled her diet and worked with a trainer to drop a dress size.
"People think I lost more, but I'm short," she recently told PEOPLE backstage at the CMA Awards. "I'm only 5'4" so when I gain, I gain everywhere, and when I lose, I lose everywhere."

Jennifer Lawrence actively fought to keep Katniss Everdeen from looking too thin in The Hunger Games movies, because she knew the character would be a hero for young girls.
"When we were doing the first The Hunger Games, it was a big discussion, 'cause it's called The Hunger Games – she's from District 12, she's obviously underfed, so she would be incredibly thin. But, I just kept saying, 'We have the ability to control this image that young girls are going to be seeing,' " she says in an interview with the BBC.
"Girls see enough of this body that we can't imitate, that we'll never be able to obtain, these unrealistic expectations, and this is gonna be their hero, and we have control over that," she explains.

Christina Aguilera may be showing off a new svelte physique these days, but there's at least one person who's happy she hasn't lost her signature curves.
"You look incredible," The Voice host Carson Daly, 40, told her Thursday evening at a press conference before the top 12 contestants were announced. "We appreciate you kept your boobs."
Aguilera, 32, one of the show's judges, squealed, "Oh my God!" Said Daly, "It's true!"
"Some things never change," the singer – dressed in a beaded top and skinny jeans – added, laughing.

Katy Perry doesn't believe sex is the only thing that sells.
"I mean, it's like everybody's so naked," Perry, 29, recently told NPR about her pop star peers. "It's like, put it away. We know you've got it. I got it, too. I've taken it off for – I've taken it out here and there."
Added the "Unconditionally" singer, who wouldn't call out anyone in particular, "I'm not necessarily judging. I'm just saying sometimes it's nice to play that card, but also it's nice to play other cards. And I know I have that sexy card in my deck but I don't always have to use that card."
