The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have picked close friends, a royal and a friend of Princess Diana as godparents to 3-month-old Prince George.
The names of the seven – that's one more godparent than William has – were released a few hours before they were to join senior royals and the Middleton family for George's christening.
Led by the Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby, the service is set to take place at 3 p.m. London time (10 a.m. ET) at the Chapel Royal in St. James's Palace.
These are the people who will have a special place in Prince George's life:

Bell, 44, who has photographed Hollywood royalty like Emily Blunt, Claire Danes, Kate Winslet, Johnny Depp and Daniel Craig, as well as soccer star David Beckham, will do the shoot at Clarence House after the service at the Chapel Royal in St. James's Palace.

Well, I never.
It seems the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have thrown caution to the wind and invited a photographer to capture their most intimate moments with Prince George – from bath time to nappy changing.
And is that Queen Elizabeth snapping a pic of baby George in a king's crown … with her smartphone?!
If it all seems too good to be true, well, that's because it is. Look closer, and you'll see that the photos are only an elaborate, brilliantly executed spoof.

Prince Harry and Cressida Bonas might be getting serious, but they're not quite ready to attend sacred royal family occasions together.
Despite reports over the weekend saying Bonas was mulling over an invitation to this Wednesday's Christening of Harry's nephew Prince George, the 24-year-old in fact has not been asked and wasn't expecting to be, those close to her say.
"It was always so unlikely that she would be invited. To say she is shy and mulling it over is rubbish," a family friend tells PEOPLE.

Kate was back in the swing of things Friday – when she played volleyball in sky-high wedges.
The Duchess of Cambridge, 31, left Prince George at home in Kensington Palace with Prince William for her first solo royal outing since giving birth in July. And she showed she's back in shape as she leaped into action at the net.
The sports-loving princess was in her element among the athletes as she joined her charity, SportsAid, in the familiar surroundings of London's Olympic Park.

It is an important day in Prince William's royal career.
On Thursday, the Duke of Cambridge took on the grand ceremonial role of bestowing knighthoods for the first time, stepping in for his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, to carry out one of 25 investitures that take place at Buckingham Palace each year.
It is a sign of the future king's increasingly formal role in the work of the family after ending his military service in September.

She's young, gorgeous, well-bred – and she has captured Prince Harry's heart.
Cressida Bonas, 24, is "really sweet, easy to talk to and really funny," her former dance school classmate Becci Whelan tells PEOPLE in this week's cover story.
Since being introduced in July 2012 by Harry's cousin – and Bonas's close friend – Princess Eugenie, the pair, who have recently taken their year-long romance into the spotlight, have become "very serious," says a family source.

Will Prince Harry be the next royal to walk down the aisle?
Speculation has increased after The Telegraph reported Sunday that Harry may pop the question to girlfriend Cressida Bonas next year.
And betting odds have grown accordingly as bookmakers reflect the increasing talk of wedding bells. Ladbrokes have odds of 8/11 that they will be engaged by the end of 2013 and even money on a wedding by the end of 2015.

It's Harrymania, as Prince Harry set hearts aflutter as he greeted crowds of wellwishers during a visit to Sydney, Australia, on Saturday.
The Prince, who was in town for the International Fleet Review, smiled and pulled faces with babies and children and posed for selfies with women who'd descended on Sydney Harbor for their chance to see him.
The Daily Telegraph reports that at one point Harry bent down to pick up a woman's straw hat after she dropped it, and then ended up having a one-on-one chat with her 22-year-old daughter, Lauren Burke.
"The straw hat is the new glass slipper when it comes to getting a prince," Burke joked. "My mom is like my wing-woman."
