Queen Elizabeth Loves to Laugh with Her Grandkids
Originally posted 05/25/2012 12:00PM
To the outside world, Queen Elizabeth sometimes appears as a poker-faced woman who seldom lets down her guard or offers up an opinion.
But when she's around her eight grandchildren (and two great-granddaughters), she "lights up," according to one of them.
Princess Eugenie, 21, says she loves telling the 86-year-old monarch about life at university. "We talk about my Newcastle life and how I've got so many essays and things and she still goes, 'Aha,' [and] laughs at what I say, which is lovely," Eugenie says during an ITV1 special, Elizabeth: Queen, Wife, Mother, airing in Britain on June 1.
Prince William: The Queen Is 'Just My Grandmother'
Originally posted 05/24/2012 03:00PM
Think wedding planning is tough with your family weighing in? Try being a royal.
About two weeks after Prince William and Kate Middleton announced their engagement, "I was given a list in the first meeting of 777 names, and not one of them on there I knew," William reveals on The Jubilee Queen With Katie Couric, a special marking the Queen's Jubilee. "So it was a bit daunting and it was like, well, that seems to be the guest list's sorted, but no room for friends or family. And I wasn't too happy about it."
Queen Elizabeth to the rescue.
"I rang her for a bit of moral support and a bit of backup," he says. "She said, 'Ridiculous. Get rid of the list. Start from your friends.' "

Prince William Questions the Queen's Noisy Dogs
Originally posted 05/22/2012 04:00PM
Queen Elizabeth II may seem composed in public, but if her grandson is to be believed, the monarch likes a bit of ruckus in her private life.
In an upcoming ITV1 documentary on his grandmother, Prince William spills the dirt on the Queen's beloved dogs, saying that they bark "all the time."
"I don't know how she copes with it, but her private life with her dogs and her riding and her walking, it's very important to her," he tells interviewer Alan Titchmarsh in Elizabeth: Queen, Wife, Mother, which airs in the U.K. June 1. "She has got to switch off."

Prince William Barely Slept on Eve of Wedding
Originally posted 05/22/2012 09:35AM
He was wide-eyed and all smiles as he took Kate as his wife at Westminster Abbey last April. But, like royal watchers around the world, the Duke of Cambridge hardly slept a wink the night before his big day a year ago.
The crowds gathered on The Mall, the London thoroughfare in front of Buckingham Palace, and the excitement of his impending wedding watched by the world made him restless, he tells interviewer Alan Titchmarsh for an upcoming ITV1 documentary on his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.
"I hadn't slept at all that night because obviously all the crowds were on The Mall," he says in Elizabeth: Queen, Wife, Mother, which airs in the U.K. June 1.

Pippa Middleton Borrows a Look from Kate's Wardrobe
Originally posted 05/21/2012 11:05AM
Is Pippa Middleton now taking her fashion cues from her big sister?
At the very least, they both seem particularly fond of a certain wrap dress from Issa.
Kate wore it in royal blue on the day of her engagement announcement in 2010. And now Pippa has dazzled in a raspberry version, which she wore to a friend's wedding in Scotland this weekend.
Pippa, 28, rounded out her look with a floral hat, a black clutch and black suede heels.

Prince Harry Tries on a New Title: Pop Star
Originally posted 05/18/2012 07:15AM
Prince Harry, a pop star? It's true – and all for his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth.
The prince taps a tambourine – and, in the video (view below), can be seen shaking a leg – as part of a new song especially created to mark the Queen's Diamond Jubilee and her commitment to the Commonwealth.
Called "Sing," the new anthem is the brainchild of singer Gary Barlow and Phantom of the Opera and Cats composer Andrew Lloyd Webber.
Barlow, who is lead vocalist of the pop group Take That and the head judge on the U.K. version of The X Factor, went around the world capturing the music and musicians of the Commonwealth. His talent haul includes an African children's choir, New Zealand soprano Hayley Westenra and reggae greats Sly and Robbie.

Sure she's still shopping at her favorite King's Road boutiques, but the Duchess of Cambridge is making a marked move toward a sexier, more daring style – and she's leaving quite an impression.
"High-level glamour is becoming more of the norm for Kate due to her role," her stylist pal Nikki Pennie, editor-at-large of StyleHaul, says in the new issue of PEOPLE. "She is becoming more playful, putting her hair in gorgeous updos to complement certain dresses. She is clearly enjoying the process and becoming more confident."

Prince Harry Rubs Noses with Lupo
Originally posted 05/14/2012 10:25AM
It's the kind of affection most people can only dream of getting: Prince Harry, openly caressing a cheek and nuzzling a nose.
Who was the enviable recipient of such a display? None other than Lupo, the royal cocker spaniel, and perhaps, the luckiest dog in the world.
During a break from a charity polo match on Sunday, the prince gave his brother and sister-in-law's young puppy his complete attention, but Harry wasn't the only one doting on the adorable dog.

Kate – and Puppy! – Cheer on the Princes at Polo Match
Originally posted 05/13/2012 04:45PM
Little Lupo enjoyed a stunning spring day with the Duchess of Cambridge when the two headed out to watch Prince William play polo Sunday.
The royal cocker spaniel was taken to a field near Windsor to watch William and brother Harry wield their polo sticks for charity.
And he was clearly something of a novelty for guests. "Lupo seemed to get as much attention from the people at the presentation as William and Harry," an observer says.
