Ed Swiderski's up-and-down journeys on The Bachelorette and Bachelor Pad ended far short of the altar, but all that is behind him with his wedding Saturday night to Chicago TV anchor Natalie Bomke, the couple confirm exclusively to PEOPLE.
Swiderski, 36 – who proposed to Bachelorette Season 5 winner Jillian Harris in 2009 before their relationship derailed – said "I do" to Bomke, 33, in a sunset ceremony attended by 100 guests on the open-air veranda of The Crown on the 25th floor of the iconic Tribune Tower.

When Jennie Garth's mommy-friend asked if she'd go on a blind double date with her, her boyfriend and his buddy Dave Abrams, the actress thought, 'Sure, why not?' I thought, 'I'll just go for dating practice,' " Garth tells PEOPLE exclusively.
"I looked him up online, and he shared a name with a real beefcake-y male stripper, and I was like, 'Oh no!' But luckily it wasn't him."
Meanwhile, Abrams assumed he didn't really stand a chance. "I didn't think I had a shot," says Abrams, 34. "But I went."
It's a good thing, too. The couple hit it off that first night – and neither ever looked back.

Many couples spend the final weeks before their weddings worrying about guest lists and floral arrangements, but that was far from the case for journalists Josh Elliott and Liz Cho.
Just three weeks ahead of their July 11 nuptials, Elliott, 44, found out some of the worst news of his life: his mother Toni had suddenly died after going into septic shock.
"It was a massive, brutal moment. My immediate reaction was, 'How am I going to make it to [tomorrow]?' " the NBC Sports anchor tells PEOPLE in this week's issue. "The wedding was very far from my thoughts."

Some brides prep for their wedding by getting massages and mani-pedis. Jennie Garth hangs lanterns, hand-paints signs and helps rewire outdoor chandeliers.
And that's just the tip of a gloriously jam-packed To Do list the actress, 43, – and self-professed DIY fanatic – tackled in the days leading up to her July 11 nuptials to actor Dave Abrams.
Her hard work paid off. By the time the roughly 120 guests arrived at Garth's bucolic six-acre ranch in Los Olivos, California, they were treated to a romantic and vintage-inspired wonderland: flowers freshly picked from her garden, antique doors and lace from her mother's collection hanging from wires in the open air and homemade touches throughout the rambling property.
