Bradley Cooper left his Aprilia motorcycle with the valet outside of Katsuya in Brentwood, Calif., before heading inside to meet buddy Ben Affleck for lunch around 1 p.m. Affleck arrived a few minutes earlier, walking in virtually unrecognizable in a coat, beard and blue beanie. The guys were seated in the rear, mirrored dining room, which they had all to themselves. And it looked like they were having fun: At one point, PEOPLE's reigning Sexiest Man Alive leaned back on his chair and laughed loudly.

Some at Sunday's Golden Globe Awards may be competing over more than just their acting chops.
The red carpet and the ceremony itself sould be sizzling, with Bradley Cooper, PEOPLE's 2011 Sexiest Man Alive, scheduled to present.
The hunk quotient will also be filled by previous winners of the honor, George Clooney and Brad Pitt, who are also competing in the best actor category.
Clooney, a multiple nominee for The Descendants (best actor) and The Ides of March (best director, best screenplay), is also a presenter.

Everything sounds better in French – especially when it's Bradley Cooper talking.
Aside from being easy on the eyes, PEOPLE's Sexiest Man Alive is fluent in French. We put the actor's language skills to the test and he demonstrated how to ask for directions, order breakfast and invite someone out for dinner.
While Cooper calls himself a "single 36-year-old male," it's safe to assume that when he asks a woman on a dinner date, the answer must be "Oui!"

There are a lot of protests going on in New York City these days, but this was unexpected.
Call it Occupy Sexy. Announcing themselves from the social-content website BuzzFeed.com, about 15 protesters in Ryan Gosling masks showed up – in the rain, no less – outside PEOPLE's headquarters at Manhattan's Time-Life Building on Wednesday.
"We are devastated," Buzzfeed's Matt Stopera, 24, said of PEOPLE's decision to name Bradley Cooper 2011's Sexiest Man Alive. "[Gosling's] left arm alone makes him the Sexiest Man Alive. Hello, look at his abs!"

Sure, he's easy on the eyes, but there's more to 2011's Sexiest Man Alive Bradley Cooper than dazzling baby blues and a killer smile.
Ladies, take note: this Georgetown grad can whip up dinner, take you for a spin on his motorcycle and whisper sweet nothings in French (he's fluent!). Just don't try convincing him what a catch he is.
"I think it's really cool that a guy who doesn't look like a model can have this [title]," says the Hangover actor, 36. "I think I'm a decent-looking guy. Sometimes I can look great, and other times I look horrifying."
Another reason to love him? Cooper, whose father Charles passed away in January, is especially close with his mom, Gloria. When he learned he'd been crowned Sexiest Man Alive, the "first thing I thought," he says, "was, 'My mother is going to be so happy.' "

George Clooney was pleased to hear Ryan Reynolds is PEOPLE's Sexiest Man Alive this year – or perhaps more accurately, he's relieved it isn't someone else.
"I'm very happy for him," Clooney said graciously at a humanitarian awards dinner in New York on Wednesday. He then added, jokingly: "I'm also happy that it's not Brad [Pitt]."
Clooney and Pitt are both multiple winners of the award – the former in 1997 and 2006, the latter in 1995 and 2000.

The abs, the smile, the sense of humor – everything about Ryan Reynolds, PEOPLE's newly crowned Sexiest Man Alive is, well, sexy. But the Green Lantern star says some friends from his past might find the title to be a bit misleading.
"I was such a goofball [growing up]," the actor tells PEOPLE in the clip above. "I went through puberty in my early 20s. That's a big part of the problem. I looked … like sort of a very athletic girl up until I was about 21."
Though it's hard to believe the handsome star ever had an awkward phase, he says he thinks "there are a few people that might think this [title] is a mistake." Well, we beg to differ!

Sure, his chiseled abs have caused millions to swoon, but 2010's Sexiest Man Alive Ryan Reynolds loves to keep them laughing.
"My body naturally wants to look like Dick Van Dyke," says the 6'2" actor, who suits up as the Green Lantern next year. "When I stop training, I turn into a skin-colored whisper."
We doubt that. From growing up the youngest of four brothers in Canada to being the funny guy in films like The Proposal, Reynolds has learned to take everything in stride. "You just have to go with the flow," he says of his new title. "This gives my family entire into teasing me for the rest of my life."

Kim Kardashian knows who PEOPLE's Sexiest Man Alive 2010 is, but her lips are sealed.
"Every year I definitely look forward to the big reveal of who is the Sexiest Man Alive," Kardashian tells PEOPLE. "It's kind of a really powerful feeling to know that I know who it is."
While she's keeping quiet about the guy's identity, the reality star, who is hosting the ABC special 25 Years of Sexy on Wednesday night, did reveal a few of his best qualities.
