If Jennifer Lopez passes the Grammy Awards dress code this year, it will be on a technicality.
The pop star showed plenty of leg (even more than Angelina Jolie at last year's Oscars!) in her black Anthony Vaccarello dress. And she told Ryan Seacrest on the red carpet that she felt she was in the clear, at least when it comes to particular body parts.
"They didn't say anything about legs!" said Lopez, 43. "I thought I was being such a good girl."
And later, during the telecast while presenting best pop solo performance to Adele with rapper Pitbull, Lopez joked, "So, as you can see, I read the memo."

The Grammy Awards have seen enough of your private parts.
In an unusually frank email to attendees of this Sunday's music-awards show, CBS has identified – rather bluntly – exactly which body parts it doesn't want to see exposed by those swanky designer outfits.
"Please be sure that buttocks and female breasts are adequately covered," reads the email, obtained by Deadline.com. "Thong type costumes are problematic. Please avoid exposing bare fleshy under curves of the buttocks and buttock crack. Bare sides or under curvature of the breasts is also problematic."

The countdown to the Academy Awards has officially begun, and so has the buzz around what the nominees will be wearing.
Nominated actresses shared their gown plans with reporters at a Beverly Hills luncheon in their honor Monday.
Though Jennifer Lawrence joked, "I'm going to wear sweatpants," it turns out just the opposite is true. "Last time was comfort. This year, I'm like, 'Suck it up, wear a corset,'" she said. "I am going to go for fashion this time."

It's a big day for the Obamas.
While watching President Barack Obama be sworn in publicly for his second term in office, Michelle Obama and their daughters, Sasha and Malia, looked on proudly from the platform in front of the Capitol.
But not all eyes were on the Commander in Chief, who officially started his term on Sunday. Many Inauguration watchers have been eager to see what the women in his life would be wearing.
The First Lady, who is sporting a new do, dressed in a navy Thom Browne coat and dress with the fabric inspired by the textures of a man's silk tie.
She accessorized with Reed Krakoff boots and a jeweled belt and gloves from J. Crew and earrings designed by Cathy Waterman. At the end of the Inaugural festivities, Michelle's entire outfit will go to the National Archives.

What's a little more scrutiny?
Arguably the most-watched fashion icon – certainly the most closely followed expectant mother – in the world, the Duchess of Cambridge has been placed under the microscope of U.K. Vogue for its February issue.
Before determining the key to her "feminine and traditional" style (at least, before her baby bump), the publication first categorizes Kate's look as "International Sleekness."
Just how close is the mag's inspection? Close enough to note exactly how often and the manner in which Kate, who turns 31 Jan. 9, holds her clutch bags: hands together, 48% of the time; one-handed, 31%. Not to mention, post blowout her royal ringlets measure one inch.

Top designers would fall over each other to dress her. And she favors exquisite labels like Alexander McQueen and Alice Temperley.
But when the Duchess of Cambridge saw a new dress laid out in her room at her hotel in the Solomon Islands, she switched plans and put it on.
The bright pink and orange batik gown was a gift from the Solomon Islands government and Kate only saw it just before she was set to change and head out again for an official banquet.
"She loved it," an aide says of the dress, which came from a shop called Island Print.

It's Fashion Week in New York, and as always, designer Marc Jacobs is one of the biggest stars of the shows. The designer, who presented his eponymous collection Monday night, is readying the catwalk again, this time for his Marc line – and we have an exclusive look at the show!
Beginning at 4 p.m. ET, watch the runway for the designer's spring 2013 looks. But be warned: New York shows are usually fashionably late, so it's possible the presentation won't be underway until closer to 4:30 p.m. So until that first model hits the catwalk, enjoy the spectacle – and try to spot all the celebrities in the front row.

She stands behind her 'do. And so does her man.
When Miley Cyrus Tweeted a photo showing off an edgy new pixie haircut on Sunday, many passionate fans responded unhappily, prompting the 19-year-old to defend her new look.
"My dad @billyraycyrus used to tell me 'opinions are like a** holes every body has one,' " Cyrus Tweeted Monday. "LOVE my hair <3 feel so happy, pretty, and free."
She also shared some hard-won wisdom with fans after most of the furor over her haircut subsided.

Short for summer!
Charlize Theron has kept her buzz cut under wraps until now, finally debuting her new look this week.
The new mom still looks gorgeous, bald and beaming while holding her infant son, Jackson.
It's a far cry from the long locks Theron, 36, sported as the Evil Queen in Snow White and the Huntsman, but the short style is not merely to beat the heat.
The actress brought out the razor for her new role as Furiosa in Mad Max: Fury Road, which she's currently filming in Namibia.
