Mindy Kaling Admits Loving Praise (and Wearing Spanx) at Beverly Hills Event

Mindy Kaling is one confident lady!

The poised star of The Mindy Project looked pretty in pink on Wednesday as she stood in front a huge room full of people and admitted, "I love praise."

Conducting the opening statements at The Hollywood Reporter's annual Women in Entertainment breakfast, which honored Diane Keaton, Kaling said praising the Academy Award-winning actress "is enjoyable because she is so self-deprecating. She literally invented the art of gracefully deflecting praise. I could learn something from her."

Taylor Armstrong Shares Romantic Brunch in Beverly Hills

Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Taylor Armstrong enjoyed brunch poolside at the Beverly Hills Hotel on Saturday.

Wearing a hot pink tank top and leather leggings, Armstrong was joined by an older gentleman with salt and pepper hair.

"The two sat side by side facing the pool," an onlooker tells PEOPLE. "They were holding hands underneath the table."

Armstrong – who seemed very focused on her Blackberry – enjoyed a few spoonfuls of soup, while they both drank Arnold Palmers.

"Every now and again they would lean in for some close conversation and kisses," the source adds.

Ryan Lochte Parties in Two Cities in One Night!

There's apparently no such thing as rest for Ryan Lochte.

Following a successful Olympic run, the professional swimmer – who just landed a cameo on 90210 – is continuing to make his celebratory rounds.

Lochte began Thursday night with an appearance at the WWE SummerSlam VIP Kickoff party at the Beverly Hills Hotel, where David Beckham was also in tow.

Looking dapper, a source tells PEOPLE that Lochte "had every female on the carpet clamoring for his attention. He was a really sweet guy and more gorgeous in person." But unfortunately for the athlete, he didn't get a chance to meet his admitted "celeb crush" Carmen Electra, the source says, because he had to catch a plane to Las Vegas.

Pregnant Reese Witherspoon Steps Out for a Ladies-Only Lunch

A glowing Reese Witherspoon walked into the Polo Lounge at the Beverly Hills Hotel flashing her signature smile en route to lunch with some gal pals. The pregnant actress arrived in a sleeveless dress, looking very svelte with her baby bump barely noticeable, according to an onlooker.

Witherspoon joined a group of about six girlfriends for lunch on the patio, and she was seated at the head of the table.

The actress was greeted with a warm welcome of hugs, and she sat chatting with her friends for about two hours, smiling and laughing the entire time. Says the onlooker: "She seemed very relaxed and content."
