Karina Smirnoff Satisfies Her Sweet Tooth in N.Y.C.

Even though Karina Smirnoff is still on hiatus from grueling Dancing with the Stars rehearsals, she wasn't afraid to splurge on some sweets Tuesday afternoon.

The ballroom pro, who is gearing up for her hit show's upcoming all-star season, popped into Forbidden Fruit NYC, where she indulged in tasty treats, including a box of assorted chocolate-covered fruit, and a fruit skewer drizzled in dark chocolate.

"She came in, telling all of the employees how much she loves chocolate," an onlooker tells PEOPLE. "She sampled a number of things and even asked for extra chocolate to be drizzled on her fruit."

The source, who says Smirnoff was "friendly to everybody," adds that the "smiley and bubbly" starlet walked up to some young children in the shop to get recommendations from them on what to order.
