It was a wet and wild night for Steven Tyler on Sunday.
The former American Idol judge took in a showing of Fuerza Bruta with two pals and his bodyguard at the Daryl Roth Theatre in N.Y.C.
Known for its iconic Mylar pool scene, Tyler wanted to experience it for himself.
"Steven actually got into the pool with the [female cast members] and [seemed to] love every minute of the experience," a source tells PEOPLE.
Calling the Aerosmith front man "incredibly generous," the source goes on to say that he even invited the entire cast to come out and see his show the following night.

Fans of buzzed-about new R&B artist Frank Ocean were in for a special treat on Tuesday when they came to his show at the Wiltern in L.A.
Aside from being treated to his smooth sounds, the crowd also got a glimpse of Drake, who made a surprise appearance in the VIP section of the venue.
"He showed up in a white T-shirt and jeans, with a date on his arm," a concertgoer tells PEOPLE. "As the crowd noticed him walking in, they screeched and created a spotlight on him with their cell phones while taking his picture."
Once settled, the source says a head-bobbing Drake, "sang along to a majority of the tunes and seemed in great spirits while occasionally joking around with pals and taking pictures with fans."
The "Take Care" artist didn't show any overt PDA with his unidentifiable guest, but he "occasionally whispered in her ear," according to the insider.

Katy Perry's fans were in for a big surprise on Wednesday night when they attended a screening for the pop star's Paramount documentary, Katy Perry: Part of Me.
Clad in a red floral dress with an open back, the "Wide Awake" singer popped up at the theater inside The Grove in Los Angeles just as the lights went down for the viewing to begin.
Once Perry arrived, she told the crowd, "You guys are all so cute, even all the way to the back," an onlooker tells PEOPLE.
"Little girls rushed the screen as Katy walked around slapping hands and greeting fans," the source says. "She managed to sign some autographs and pose for a few pictures before trying to disperse the massive crowd that had gathered around her."
Perry, who said a few more sweet things to her admirers on the mic, "was all smiles and seemed genuinely excited for her young fans to see the film," the insider says, adding, "The start of the screening was delayed a good 10-15 minutes before Katy sat down in the middle of the screaming crowd for a bit."

Nothing like enjoying a little theater in the West End while in London!
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie attended a recent matinee of Billy Elliot the Musical at the Victoria Palace Theatre, a source tells us, for themselves and several of their children. (The source could not confirm which of the Jolie-Pitt kids attended the show, though seven tickets were booked in total.)
The family, who recently visited the U.K.'s Legoland together, sat in the dress circle – not separated from the rest of the audience for the 2:30 p.m. performance. After the show, Brad and Angelina went backstage to meet Adam Vespermann, a Seattle-native, who played Billy. When it was time to go, they left via the stage door and also signed autographs for some fans who were assembled.

Topher Grace brought out an impressive crowd Monday when he made his professional stage debut during opening night of Paul Weitz's comedic Off-Broadway play Lonely, I'm Not at Second Stage's Tony Kiser Theatre in New York City.
Grace's The Wedding costar Robert DeNiro came out to see the show, along with Susan Sarandon and Veep actress Anna Chlumsky.
DeNiro didn't exactly manage to go unnoticed, an onlooker tells PEOPLE. "Robert almost bulldozed an elderly lady on his way into the theatre to avoid photographers," the source said.
DeNiro, Sarandon (sans regular companion Jonathan Bricklin) and Chlumsky each arrived separately to watch Grace star as Porter, a man who is giving life another chance after going through the ups and downs of romance and career. Olivia Thirlby also stars in the play, as an ambitious young businesswoman who comes into Porter's life while overcoming emotional obstacles of her own.

Usher got a run for his money when Justin Bieber challenged him to a dance-off during his performance on the off-Broadway show, Fuerza Bruta, Friday night.
"It was a total surprise, and it was so cool," said a member in the audience.
Usher performed in the show and debuted songs from his upcoming album Looking for Myself. Bieber was there to support his mentor, but the singer surprised him by coming into the audience and smashing a confetti-filled prop onto his head. They hugged and Bieber then started an impromptu dance-off.
The verdict is out on who won, but Bieber seemed to be into Usher's moves, and the young singer later Tweeted, "@usherraymondiv U KILLED IT yesterday."
Meanwhile, Usher showed off his skills again the following night when he performed as a man running on a treadmill. He also thanked the cast and crew privately backstage after his final performance.
