Nick Jonas & Miley Cyrus's 'Reconnection' Confirmed

Originally posted 06/19/2009 03:40PM

Did Joe Jonas call out his brother Nick and gal-pal Miley Cyrus on national TV? Believe he did!

During an interview Thursday night on Larry King Live, the veteran newsman asked the brothers about their "female situation." Joe, 19, claimed that all three are currently dating. But when King pressed on whether Joe's girlfriend (Camilla Belle, 22) is as famous as Nick's, Joe simply said, "I don't think anybody is as famous as Miley Cyrus."

When King's focus shifted to the coupling of Cyrus, 16, with Nick, also 16, the younger Jonas appeared incredulous and simply stated, "It's nice to have reconnected with her. For a little while there, we had not been as reconnected as we are now."

Stop the rumor mill: Camilla Belle insists she and Robert Pattinson are friends – nothing more.

Though recent reports hinted that the actress and the Twilight star, 23, had a date over drinks (with another unidentified woman) on Tuesday at New York's Bowery Hotel, Belle insists that the evening was just a night out with pals.

"We have a big group of friends and we saw each other last night," Belle, 22, told PEOPLE on Wednesday at The Whitney Contemporaries' Art Party sponsored by BCBG Max Azria at Skylight in New York City. "[Pattinson] is very cool – a very nice guy."

VIDEO: Joe Jonas Does 'Single Ladies' Dance

Originally posted 06/03/2009 02:15PM

Justin Timberlake did it on Saturday Night Live. Chuck Wicks and Shawn Johnson did it on Dancing with the Stars.

And now, Joe Jonas is joining the hundreds of people doing Beyoncé's dance to "Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)" on YouTube.

In a new clip posted Wednesday, Nick and Kevin Jonas urge their brother, who is crouching down and hiding behind them, to "do this for the fans." When they move out of the way, the music starts and Joe, in a black skin-tight cat suit and pumps, starts to move to his hips. But what would Beyoncé say? Maybe, "Keep practicing."

Singer-songwriter Taylor Swift doesn't follow a rulebook when it comes to dating.

"I don't look for boyfriends. I don't really scour the awards shows for who I'm going to date," the 19-year-old CMT Music Awards nominee tells the Associated Press. "But I think love happens when you're not looking for it, and when it happens, I'm not going to be the one to over think it."

Swift, who once dated Joe Jonas of the Jonas Brothers, says it doesn't matter what her love interest does or how he affects her career.

POLL: Who Should Play Frank Sinatra?

POLL: Who Should Play Frank Sinatra?

Originally posted 05/15/2009 09:35AM

The race is on in Hollywood to play Ol' Blue Eyes.

Oscar winner Martin Scorsese will be directing and producing a biopic about legendary singer Frank Sinatra, who died in 1998 at age 82. The hot-tempered Sinatra led a famously colorful life: He wed four times (including to movie stars Ava Gardner and Mia Farrow), had early ties to organized crime, and starred in 50-plus movies, including the original Rat Pack extravaganza, Ocean’s Eleven, as well as From Here to Eternity, for which he won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor.

The role of Sinatra has yet to be cast, but the early favorite is Leonardo DiCaprio, who has made three films with Scorsese, including Shutter Island, which opens this fall. Another possible contender: Johnny Depp. Respected film industry blogger Nikki Finke reports he's the choice of the sponsoring studio, Universal. Neither actor is known for his warbling abilities, but that doesn’t matter because the film, which has the cooperation of the Sinatra estate, will use the crooner’s original recordings.

Other possible contenders? Justin Timberlake, who actually can sing and has the right hungry look. Tween heartthrob Joe Jonas has the pipes and the right look. Or maybe even Twilight’s Robert Pattinson, if he loses the fangs and nails a New Jersey accent. Pick your favorite to portray the crooner below:

What does the future hold for the Jonas Brothers? More music, more acting – and maybe a bestseller.

In the June issue of Seventeen, Joe, 19, opens up about where he sees himself in five years. "I guess personally I would love to do more acting, maybe movies – that would be really cool," says the singer, whose Disney Channel series, Jonas (costarring his brothers), premieres Saturday.

His acting role model? "I think Johnny Depp's work is really great – he always incorporates music into what he does."

Joe adds that he also might want to "write a book one day, because I love to read. The Alchemist is my favorite book of all time."

NYPD Fears Jonas Brothers 'Mob Scene' on New Year's

Originally posted 12/30/2008 09:05AM

They may be nothing more than three skinny teenagers with nice hair, but they've struck fear into the hearts of New York City's finest.

The New York Police Department – which has heroically handled terrorist attacks, blackouts and riots without a whimper – is being cautious over the "mob scene" that could result when the Jonas Brothers perform in Times Square at Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest on Wednesday night.

According to a source, police officials fessed up to their concerns in a recent meeting with producers of the show.

"So they're now planning on using extra [security] men for support," the source says. "It's going to be crazy because everyone will be in Times Square to watch them perform on the show."

If the extra cops can't quell Jonas-mania, maybe Mother Nature can. The forecast for New Year's Eve is currently a bone-chilling 17 degrees, with a chance of rain or snow.
