Now that's how you perfect an American Idol audition.
Hollywood Anderson, a formerly homeless New York City subway busker, completely stunned judges Jennifer Lopez, Harry Connick Jr. and substitute judge Adam Lambert when he sang his original song, "My Best Friend," during Thursday night's New York auditions.
In fact, it was "goosies" for everyone watching, anywhere.

In what essentially amounted to a mega musical mashup, a bevy of chart-topping mainstays, including Elton John, Chris Brown, Robin Thicke, Katy Perry and fun., hit the stage at the MGM Grand – that is, when they weren't schmoozing with one another in between sets.
The shindig also featured Miley Cyrus's first performance since calling off her engagement to Liam Hemsworth.

Miley Cyrus has at least one supporter this week, and he's no stranger to controversy himself.
"Listen if it wasn't ur cup of tea – all good but why is everyone spazzing? Hey – she's doin something right. We all talkin," Adam Lambert wrote Monday on Twitter.
He stopped short, though, of saying he actually enjoyed the 20-year-old pop star's twerking routine with Robin Thicke.

Early on Fergie took the mic to announce, "Woo! It's my baby boy's first party!" and, appropriately, Adam Lambert arrived as "Let's Hear it for the Boy" played.

Will Keith Urban remain the last judge standing on American Idol? Or will Fox replace its entire lineup for an all-new panel of judges? What exactly will happen next season?
Until Urban's fate is announced, speculation persists on who will replace Randy Jackson, who announced his departure after 12 seasons on the show, as well as the latest stars to exit, Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj.
After fun and dramatic seasons with the likes of Steven Tyler, Jennifer Lopez, Paula Abdul and the ever-so blunt Simon Cowell, the possibilities are endless about which star could energize Idol as the show competes with a growing number of singing contests, including NBC's The Voice, amid criticism and falling ratings.

Competition tightened for the top 10 on Monday's episode of The Voice, with star potential growing as singers showed off deeper range and greater confidence in their performances.
As rescuers searched for survivors of Monday afternoon's Oklahoma tornadoes, Voice host Carson Daly offered a shout out of support to all affected by the tragedy.
Oklahoma native Blake Shelton said his family is safe but that the violent, massive storm made it hard to focus on the competition.
"They are going through hell right now," Shelton said. "It's bad news. [But] I've got a job to do and the team is counting on me."

Last July when emerging R&B star Frank Ocean published an emotional letter detailing an early love affair with a man, his "coming out" story made headlines in the hip-hop world and beyond.
Now, the Grammy-nominated songwriter is being honored by GLAAD, the nation's lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender media advocacy and anti-defamation organization.
Ocean is among the 120 nominees for the 24th Annual GLAAD Media Awards, the organization announced early Wednesday morning. He is being recognized for his critically-lauded Channel Orange album.
Other musician nominees include Adam Lambert (for his album Tresspassing).

He took the world by storm as a contestant on American Idol. But does Adam Lambert have what it takes to sit on the other side of the judges' table?
Lambert, 30, is reportedly among those being considered for a judging role if Jennifer Lopez doesn't return, according to an E! Online report.
The season 8 singer, who finished as runner-up to Kris Allen in probably the biggest Idol upset ever, is one of the show's biggest stars, and has the outsize personality that would seem perfect for television.
