That's probably what Adam Lambert thought after the 2009 AMAs, during which he took a tumble while performing – a slip that Jennifer Lopez also made while jumping off a dancer's back.

Source Confirms Adam Lambert Split with Boyfriend

It's official: American Idol's Adam Lambert is back on the market.
The singer, 26, who officially came out in June, split with his longtime boyfriend Drake LaBry about a week ago.
"It was mainly because Adam's life is so hectic," a friend of Lambert's tells PEOPLE. "He needs to focus on his career right now."

Adam Lambert Streams His New Single Online

Adam Lambert introduced his new glam-rock single, "For Your Entertainment," on Ryan Seacrest's radio show early Friday morning, and is now streaming it on his Web site in time for the Halloween party weekend.
"It's dance music with a glam-rock shuffle beat, in the style of T. Rex and 'Rock & Roll, Part 2,' " the American Idol runner-up told KIIS-FM listeners.
The single, from the upcoming album of the same name, has been described as Lambert's "Britney song," in contrast to his other recently unveiled tune, "Time for Miracles" (from the 2012 soundtrack), which is his power-ballad "Christina song."

Season 8 American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert is no also-ran. His first album, not due for release until Nov. 24, zoomed to the No. 2 spot on the Amazon.com sales list Monday, behind only Barbra Streisand's much-publicized new jazz album, reports the New York Post.
The distinction ranked Lambert, 27, ahead of Madonna, the Beatles and Susan Boyle on the online retailer's sales list – and shows that one needn't nab the top title on Idol to win the sales race, as also evidenced by such chart-topping later-place finishers as Jennifer Hudson, Clay Aiken and Chris Daughtry.

Kris Allen 'Flattered' by Adam Lambert's Crush

In his Rolling Stone cover story, American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert admitted he'd been crushing on his roommate in the Idol mansion, Kris Allen.
"I was like, 'Oh, s---, they put me with the cute guy ... Distracting!" Lambert told the magazine. "He's the one guy that I found attractive in the whole group on the show ... totally my type – except that he has a wife."
Allen's response? "I'm flattered," the Idol winner tells PEOPLE exclusively, "And think it's hilarious."
The duo will have plenty of time to laugh over their missed chance at bromance this summer: Allen, Lambert and the other eight finalists from the show's top ten will hit the road on a 52-date tour starting July 5 in Portland, Ore.

Adam Lambert: I'm Gay

As promised, Adam Lambert is clearing up all the speculation about his sexuality in the new issue of Rolling Stone.
"I don't think it should be a surprise for anyone to hear that I'm gay," Lambert tells the magazine. "I've been living in Los Angeles for eight years as a gay man."
While Lambert is proud of his sexuality – "I embrace it," he says. "It's just another part of me" – he's focused on his career. "I'm trying to be a singer, not a civil rights leader."

Kris Allen Calls Adam Lambert & Drake LaBry a 'Cool Combination'

Although he's encouraged people to keep speculating about his sexuality, Adam Lambert now says, "all your questions will be answered" in an upcoming issue of Rolling Stone.
"Finally," he said at the 11th Annual Young Hollywood Awards Sunday in Santa Monica, where he was named artist of the year. "Once and for all" he'll speak directly about the topic.
But the winner of American Idol, Kris Allen, 23, is already speaking out in support of his good friend and runner-up, praising Lambert for his openness.
"I think he's happier that he can be himself and it's nice," Allen says of Lambert, 27, stepping out with his friend Drake LaBry. "Adam is who he is and he's not afraid. I support him in whatever he does."

Several times he sat with Lambert's parents in the audience during the show.

Adam Is Open about His Sexuality, Says Kara DioGuardi

American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert may want America to keep speculating about his sexuality, but there's at least one person who has no doubt which way the 27-year-old singer swings: judge Kara DioGuardi.
"I don't think that Adam was ever in [the closet]," she says in a chat set to air on The View Friday.
Her comment came as part of a response to host Barbara Walters, who had asked if Lambert's controversial loss to Kris Allen was influenced by questions about whether Lambert is gay. Lambert has a penchant for eyeliner, nail polish, tight pants and flamboyant hair styles, and has been photographed kissing other men.
