He's a Saturday Night Live legend and one of the most successful movie comedians of his generation. But back in his single days, did Adam Sandler have much game?
According to Leslie Mann, who plays his love interest in the new comedy Funny People, the answer is a resounding no.
"I actually met Adam before I met Judd," says Mann, 37, referring to her husband Judd Apatow, who wrote and directed Funny People. Apatow is also the comic force behind Knocked Up and The 40-Year-Old Virgin – and the couple's daughters, Maude, 11, and Iris, 6, play Mann's children in Funny People, which opens July 31.

Adam Sandler broke his ankle while playing basketball on Saturday, his rep has announced in a statement.
The I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry actor, 41, still won the game, according to the spokesperson.
The injury will not affect Sandler's current work schedule. His current movie, Bedtime Stories, due for release later this year, remains on schedule, the Associated Press reports.
It was not specified whether it was the left or right ankle.

Tom Cruise has been taking a beating in the press lately, but several of the star's pals are standing up for him.
Adam Sandler tells PEOPLE in an exclusive statement, "To see anyone's private life invaded and mocked like this is sickening. It's especially gross when it happens to a guy like Cruise, who's a great dad, a great husband, and a great friend."
Earlier this month, Andrew Morton's scathing biography of Cruise hit shelves; meanwhile, a pro-Scientology video starring the actor hit the Internet and became the butt of jokes. But many of Cruise's friends and colleagues are not laughing.

Playing a dad in Spanglish wasn't too much of a stretch for funnyman Adam Sandler. The actor, 38, who married former model Jackie Titone last year, says he's ready for the task. "I just recently started trying, doing the best I can," he says. And, "it feels good trying." After taking a serious turn in 2002's Punch-Drunk Love, Sandler, best known for his roles as immature pranksters in frat-boy favorites like Billy Madison, returns as a sensitive chef with a marriage crisis in the dramedy Spanglish. Sandler recently chatted about being ready for baby, finding role models and learning the ropes in the kitchen.
