Allison Janney isn't an Olympian, but she still has the chance to break a world record this year.

If the actress wins the Emmys for outstanding supporting actress in a comedy for Mom and outstanding guest actress for Masters of Sex (as she did last year), Janney would break Cloris Leachman's record for most Primetime Emmy wins.

"I feel the pressure," Janney, 56, tells PEOPLE. "But truthfully I'm just happy to be invited to the party."

After Allison Janney revived her West Wing character at a White House press briefing last week, the no-nonsense press secretary showed up on The Late Late Show Wednesday night alongside host James Corden – but she wasn't alone.

Bradley Whitford, a.k.a. White House Deputy Chief of Staff Josh Lyman, also joined in for Corden's riff on West Wing scribe Aaron Sorkin's signature walk-and-talk.

C.J. Cregg is back to running the country, sort of.

On Friday, Allison Janney revisited her The West Wing character and stepped up to the podium at the White House and acting as the President's Press Secretary once more.

"Hi everyone, good afternoon," said Janney, 56, during a press briefing. "Josh [Earnest] is out today, I believe it's a root canal," she joked, referencing one of her own character's storylines while poking fun at the real White House Press spokesperson.

After a few more jokes, Earnest walked in and told the actress that, since she was standing at the podium, she "might as well use it." At that, Janney dropped out of character and discussed something more serious: substance abuse.
