New dad Neil Patrick Harris has an outgoing and loving personality – and will be a wonderful father, says his How I Met Your Mother costar Alyson Hannigan.
"He's definitely a kid at heart and I think that really helps," she tells PEOPLE. "He can get into the kids' energy easily. He's fantastic with my daughter, and she just loves him."
Hannigan, 36, who has a 19-month-old daughter, Satyana, with her husband Alexis Denisof, says her costar and his partner David Burtka will be "fantastic fathers" to their twins, Gideon Scott and Harper Grace, and thinks Harris's creativity will go a long way.
"He has this phenomenal song that he has made up and it makes my daughter laugh every time he does it," she says, laughing. "It sticks in my head for days. It's so brilliant, and it's the perfect baby song. He's definitely going to be so creative and fun."

It's unusual to celebrate your first day back at work after a summer vacation, but that's just what the cast and crew of How I Met Your Mother did this week.
They had plenty to celebrate: In addition to Neil Patrick Harris's third consecutive Emmy nomination for best supporting actor in a comedy, the CBS sitcom nabbed its first nomination in the best comedy category – and stars Alyson Hannigan and Cobie Smulders became mothers over their summer breaks.
Opting for orange juice rather than a champagne toast while backstage her husband Alexis Denisof looked after 4-month-old Satyana, Hannigan told PEOPLE, "I'm so fortunate that she's here. We set up a nursery, and daddy and baby are in nursery right now. So I can run off and get to see them when I have scenes off. It's the best thing that's ever happened to me! I'm so in love."

Alyson Hannigan is finding that being pregnant not only gives her cravings – but makes her feel like a stoned Koala bear.
"I get tired a lot and I have pregnancy brain, which I never realized was a thing but it is," the expectant mom said on The Ellen DeGeneres Show Friday. "I sort of feel like a Koala bear where I'm slightly stoned all the time and I'll say the wrong word."
Quipped Ellen DeGeneres, "I'm not pregnant, but I have that brain too. I don't have an excuse."

Tea Leoni got a little kinky with Adam Sandler in their new movie, Spanglish. The actress, who plays a neurotic mother and wife, says she insisted to the film's director, James L. Brooks, on just one thing during the couple's coupling scene. "I told Jim, 'The only thing is – and I really feel adamant about this – I want to leave her sneakers on.' " Leoni, who has two children with husband David Duchovny, says she'd never leave her running shoes on while being intimate in real life, but her character, Deborah, isn't the touchy-feely type. "Jim, I think, thought I was nuts, but there's something about me leaving my shoes on. You know where (the love scene) is not going to end up, which is cuddling in bed or falling asleep or relaxing."

Band camp has never been the same: Alyson Hannigan has become a fan favorite both on the big screen (as American Pie's nerdy-but-randy band geek Michelle) and on television (as Willow on Buffy the Vampire Slayer). Now she's back on top with the current No. 1 movie American Wedding – the supposed final installment in the Pie trilogy, in which her character, Michelle, ties the knot with the once-pastry-loving protagonist, Jim (Jason Biggs).
