Amanda Peet Welcomes a Baby Girl

Amanda Peet ditched David Letterman on Tuesday for a good reason: She went into labor early and delivered daughter Molly June Benioff in New York.
The actress, 38, had been scheduled to appear on the Late Show with David Letterman to promote her upcoming film, Please Give, but instead welcomed her second child with screenwriter husband David Benioff late Monday, April 19.
"Mother and daughter are doing great," Peet's rep tells PEOPLE.

There is much to be thankful for this holiday season for Amanda Peet and her husband of three years, writer David Benioff.
A rep for the 2012 actress confirms to PEOPLE that she's pregnant with the couple's second child. Further information, including a due date, was not provided.
Baby-on-the-way will join 2½-year-old big sister Frances "Frankie" Pen, born in February 2007.

Amanda Peet is currently starring in a blockbuster movie (2010), has a talented husband (screenwriter David Benioff), an adorable daughter, and looks that land her on the cover of magazines.
So what more could she want?
"I want boobs, a gentle six-pack and a perky butt," the actress, 37, tells the December issue of Self.
In fact, she even has a specific woman's figure in mind. "If I could choose an ideal body, I’d take Gisele Bündchen’s," says Peet. "I challenge anyone to say she wouldn’t want Gisele’s body, deep down."
She then adds, "Actually, I’d take a number of people’s bodies. I’d take Jennifer Aniston’s, too."

At a party celebrating her September cover for Gotham magazine, Amanda Peet gushed over her 1 ½-year-old daughter, Frances Pen's first words.
"I think Dada was her first word. She says 'Hi Dada, Hi Mama,' and she does sign language so she'll say 'I love you' (in sign language)" said the actress. " When the lights turn green in the car, she'll say ‘Go, go, go!'"
Peet said she and her husband, screenwriter David Benioff, have gotten a lot of advice since becoming parents, but, "the best advice is not listening to too many people. I think it's best to go with your own instincts. There's not one right way to do something.”
Other mommy tips? "I just can't seem to live without IKEA."

Amanda Peet: Motherhood Is 'Bittersweet and Humbling'

Amanda Peet, who has an 18-month old-daughter, Frances, with screenwriter husband David Benioff, says motherhood is not what she expected.
"One surprise of motherhood for me was how little control I have," the actress, 36, tells Cookie magazine's June/July issue, out July 15. "I thought it would be an extended, blissful romance with me at the helm, cuddling this little creature to life. It's been bittersweet and humbling to let her lead, and to try not to be perfect myself."
And the native New Yorker, who plays an FBI agent in The X Files: I Want to Believe, out July 25, says she feel additional pressure now to succeed in Hollywood because she’s a mom.
I still feel desperately sad when I don't win a role," she tells the magazine. "When you're able to identify your passions, then your child will be able to identify hers. It's a great template."
