Survivor's Aras Baskauskas Is Going to Be a Dad!

Yes, Aras Baskauskas didn't bring home the million on his second time out playing Survivor, but he's not lamenting the loss.

The L.A.-based singer-songwriter has much more important things going on in his life. "I'm going to be a dad," he tells PEOPLE exclusively. "My fiancée is 12 weeks pregnant! Obviously, that's a lot more important than winning Survivor."

It's been a good month for Baskauskas, who recently got engaged to Christy Petersen, his girlfriend of four years. Petersen is a model and clothing designer who runs the Dawn clothing line. "So far so good, if you don't count the morning sickness," says Baskauskas. "Momma and Baby are both healthy, and the little one is due in early June."

"I hope … you don't cast your vote based on that you got your feelings hurt. I think it's poor sportsmanship, and I don't think that it relays who the true Survivor is. It just shows that you got your feelings hurt."

Survivor's Aras Baskauskas Is Engaged to Girlfriend Christy Petersen

Originally posted 11/10/2013 02:20PM

Aras Baskauskas may have been sent to Redemption Island on last week's episode of Survivor, but things are certainly looking up in his personal life.

During an romantic sunset on the beach, Baskauskas surprised his girlfriend of four years, Christy Petersen, with an engagement ring.

Petersen, a model and clothing designer, had just finished a photo shoot on Saturday afternoon in Big Sur for her women's line, DAWN. At the end of the shoot, she and Baskauskas, 32, sat on a rocky outcrop to watch the sun set into the Pacific Ocean. As dusk fell, Baskauskas dropped on one knee and proposed, presenting her with a handmade ring by jewelry designer Jessica Seaton. The ring, set in rose gold, sports a sliced diamond surrounded by smaller diamonds.

Something's rotten on Survivor.

You got a whiff of it when Aras went off by himself to meditate, leaving the rest of the tribe behind to gossip and plot. You could sniff it when Vytas smirked in self-satisfaction at Tribal Council.
