What do you get when you put together a roomful of comics and a television to watch Tracy Morgan's triumphant return to Saturday Night Live? Well, a slumber party, of course!
"It really was!" comedian Kathy Griffin told PEOPLE on the red carpet Oct. 18 at The Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., before the taping of the 18th Annual Mark Twain Prize for American Humor, this year honoring Eddie Murphy, 54. "We were watching Tracy host SNL and [Dave] Chappelle was in there, and Arsenio [Hall] was there, and it just was so much fun. I was in comedy heaven."

Prince showed that he had a sense of humor when he guested on New Girl last month.
But when PEOPLE went backstage to watch him on The Arsenio Hall Show, in an episode airing Wednesday night, we learned a whole lot more about the Purple One.
Clad in bell-bottoms, a long black fur vest, gold chains and a tame '70s afro, the famously private star took over the show as only he could.
Over the two hours of taping on Tuesday night, Prince performed three songs – his new single "FunkNRoll," "She's Always in My Hair" and "Mutiny" – chatted on the couch with Hall, and later sat with the audience to take questions from his fans, some of whom had been waiting outside the studio for more than six hours to see him.

Forget the starry-eyed romance. Gabrielle Union says she plans to marry NBA star Dwyane Wade with an open heart – and an iron-clad prenup.
"I've got to protect my stuff," the Being Mary Jane star matter-of-factly told the ageless Arsenio Hall on The Arsenio Hall Show Monday night.
Union, 41, has made it clear she's hoping to avoid repeating mistakes she made when her first marriage, to NFL star Chris Howard, ended in divorce in 2005.

Arsenio Hall found himself moved to tears while interviewing Tika Sumpter on his talk show on Wednesday.
Hall, who was a longtime friend of Whitney Houston's, asked the 33-year-old what it was like working with "The Voice" on her last film Sparkle, which came out after she died in 2012.
"Whitney was everything," said Sumpter, who played the Grammy winner's daughter. "You'd be sitting in a corner, and I'd be just kind of quiet, they'd be changing for the set-up and she's like, 'You okay, baby? Who do I need to talk to to make sure you're all right?' And I'm like, 'I'm good' and she's like, 'All right, I got you.' She was just like a mother."

"I was with him just four days before it happened," Gibson, 35, said on The Arsenio Hall Show. "We were on the set shooting, and that was a lot of shock and trauma for the family and all of us involved, because he's such a nice guy."

Coming to America turns 25 this year, and fans of the 1988 comedy are naturally still wondering if Eddie Murphy will ever reprise his role as Akeem, an African prince who journeys to Queens in search of a bride.
Alas it seems a sequel is unlikely, but the reason may surprise you.
