Amy Poehler's wonderful Parks and Recreation ended its seven-season run on NBC Tuesday night with an hour-long finale that wasn't strictly necessary: The season had been so good – and so good at building to this goodbye – that the show seemed to have already sneaked out of the room during a game of peek-a-boo.
You took your hands away from your eyes and realized the room was suddenly empty.
At which point you began to cry.

After seven brilliant seasons, Parks and Recreation airs its final episode on Tuesday night.
Though often overlooked despite its longevity and critical acclaim, the writers – with showrunner Mike Schur at the helm – created a rich universe filled with well-rounded characters whose quirks were celebrated often in the form of joke callbacks that were as hilarious on the second, third and 10th time they were told as they were the first.
In advance of the series finale, we thought we'd revisit seven of the best recurring jokes on Parks.

Now that Parks and Recreation and David Letterman's reign on the Late Show are nearing their respective ends, a beautiful friendship has blossomed.
When Aubrey Plaza stopped by Letterman's show on Tuesday, the host, 67, asked what she's going to do now that the show has wrapped. "I have no plan. At all," she deadpanned. "I was thinking of gaining skills – survival skills. Marksmanship, maybe."
Plaza, 30, then turned Letterman's own question on him: "What are you going to do when your show's over?"
"As I was asking you that question," admitted Letterman, "I realized I don't have an answer either."

A lot of men dream of dating Aubrey Plaza but The To Do List star says she would put herself on the "don't" list for dating.
"I am the last person on earth I’d ever go on a date with," Plaza says in the August issue of GQ.
She does say, however, that her ideal first date would "be for someone to come and pick me up and then be like 'You know, I don’t feel like going anywhere.' And then I'd be like 'Yeah, you’re right. Let’s not go anywhere.' And then they’d be like 'You know, I kind of just want to go home and watch a movie.' And then I’d be like 'Alright, I’ll see you later. This was really fun.' "
Got that? Well, it all seems to make sense to the quirky 29-year-old, who is gaining a reputation for turning heads.

Well, everyone did notice. And it got the actress kicked out of the ceremony after she crashed Will Ferrell's acceptance speech for Comedic Genius.
