Avril Lavigne Engaged to Nickelback's Chad Kroeger

Avril Lavigne and Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger's relationship has been so quiet that few even knew they were dating. Now, after a six-month courtship, the Canadian rockers are engaged to be married, Lavigne's rep tells PEOPLE exclusively.
Lavigne, 27, and Kroeger, 37, first got together in February to co-write a song for Lavigne's upcoming fifth studio album.
"A romantic relationship blossomed as they spent time writing together," a Lavigne pal tells PEOPLE.
On Aug. 8, Kroeger popped the question, presenting Lavigne with a 14-carat diamond sparkler.

Avril Lavigne had some special support at a party to launch her Abbey Dawn accessories line in L.A.: her ex-husband, Deryck Whibley!
The Sum41 rocker came out to the JustFabulous party at the Viper Room, and even shared a hug with Lavigne, who reportedly split from her boyfriend Brody Jenner in January. Whibley also posed for pictures at the event and congratulated Lavigne on her hard work.
And Lavigne wasn't simply enjoying her party: she performed a set packed with her hits (including "Girlfriend" and "My Happy Ending") for a packed house, which included Taylor Momsen, Mena Suvari and Kimora Lee Simmons, who introduced the rocker before her performance. (The concert was also streamed live on the Internet for fans who couldn't make it.)

Everyone from Katy Perry to Janet Jackson has been rumored for the two open judge seats on The X Factor.
But at least one oft-mentioned name can be taken off the list: Avril Lavigne.
"I'm making a record. I want to make movies," she told PEOPLE on Tuesday. "No, it's not happening."
At an L.A. event launching her Abbey Dawn fashion line on JustFabulous, Lavigne, 27, who performed on the program, says of the speculation, "It's flattering. It's a great show."

Avril Lavigne and Brody Jenner's romance may not be headed for the Hills after all.
The musician, 27, and former reality star, 28, were cozy at Culina restaurant at the Four Seasons Beverly Hills over the weekend, an eyewitness tells PEOPLE.
"They had drinks on the patio and moved inside for dinner," the witness says. "They were kissing and cuddling and were very affectionate. They definitely didn't look broken-up."

Apparently there's no bad blood between Brody Jenner and Avril Lavigne.
The exes, who haven't officially confirmed their split, took to the Twitterverse on Tuesday to declare their adoration for each other.
"It really upsets me to read all the FALSE!! stories," Jenner, 28, wrote. "Avril has always been there for me and is the closest person to my heart. I love her."

Is it really over for Brody Jenner and Avril Lavigne?
The couple have indeed split, a source tells PEOPLE. But the source says the lovebirds, who were inseparable for much of their romance, could very well get back together.
Jenner hasn’t commented on the breakup rumors directly, but seemed to address it with a cryptic post on Twitter saying, "Everybody…RELAX.”

Avril Lavigne struck out for a night of bowling and romance with beau Brody Jenner at New York's Lucky Strike Lanes. The lovebirds attended the launch for Picksie 2.0, an app that recommends hotspots in various cities. The two mingled with fans at the event but also hit the lanes ,where Jenner bested his girlfriend, bowling a 100, while Lavigne scored 88. And her bowling ball of choice? It was leopard-print.

It was a Saturday night to remember for Avril Lavigne and Brody Jenner, but for all the wrong reasons.
The pop singer, 27, was allegedly injured in a fight outside the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel in the early hours on Sunday. Jenner, her boyfriend, was also injured, apparently when he tried to intervene.
Both of them later Tweeted about the incident.
"I got attacked by 5 people last night out of nowhere. Not cool. My face is f––ed," Lavigne wrote. "As in black eye, bloody nose, hair ripped out, scratches, bruises and cuts. So not ok to be abusive to others. Violence is NEVER the answer."
