Ninth-graders across America are sighing in relief: In 2016, the SAT exam will scrap its mandatory essay component, tone down its highfalutin vocabulary questions and return to its iconic top score of 1600.

Besides attempting to open up the SAT to students of all backgrounds – scores on the current SAT are highly correlated with family income – the new move helps today's students in another unexpected way.

Once again, it will be very easy for them to compare their own SAT scores with those of their favorite celebrities.

To celebrate the occasion, we've done some research on stars' reported SAT scores, all of which came on the old 1600 test. Besides Oscar winner Ben Affleck, who the New York Times says earned "almost perfect" SAT scores, did you beat any of these celebs?

In a scene dreamt up (and photographed) by director David Fincher, Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike grace the cover of Entertainment Weekly's 2014 preview issue (on newsstands Friday) – as their Gone Girl characters, Nick and Amy Dunne.

While it's not a film still from the adaptation of Gillian Flynn's bestselling thriller, the ominous image teases this dark telling of love gone awry.

Nick and Amy are two unemployed magazine writers whose marriage falls apart once they depart New York City for Nick's native Missouri – but on the couple's fifth wedding anniversary, Amy vanishes and Nick becomes the prime suspect in her disappearance.
