The eldest daughter of Oscar winner Billy Bob Thornton was indicted Wednesday on several charges – including first-degree murder, aggravated child abuse and aggravated manslaughter – in connection with the October 2008 death of a 1-year-old girl she was baby sitting in central Florida
Amanda Brumfield, 29, was booked at the Orange County Jail, where she is being held without bail, reports the Orlando Sentinel.

Billy Bob Thornton's Daughter Arrested After Baby's Death

The oldest daughter of Billy Bob Thornton has been arrested in Florida on charges of child neglect resulting in the death of 1-year-old girl she was babysitting in October, police said Sunday.
Friday's arrest of Amanda Brumfield, 29, was the result of an alleged incident in which the infant fell, Officer Lee Stevens of the Ocoee, Florida, police force, tells CNN.
Brumfield informed detectives that a girl she was babysitting hit her head in a fall in an Ocoee home on Oct. 3, Detective James Berish said in a press release. Brumfield called for help more than two hours later after being unable to revive the child, according to police.

Jimmy Kimmel did the same thing a Canadian radio host did – dared to call Billy Bob Thornton a movie actor – only this time the reaction was much less caustic.
During an interview earlier this month involving Thornton's band, The Boxmasters, Thornton mumbled answers to host Jian Ghomeshi and insulted Canadian audiences, comparing them to "mashed potatoes without gravy." The band got boos and catcalls when it appeared in Toronto as the opening act for Willie Nelson.
During Tuesday's appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the host asked: "Billy, is it OK I mention that you're an actor? I don't want to get off on the wrong foot here."
Thornton explained he got rankled in Canada because the interviewer, Jian Ghomeshi, wasn't supposed to discuss Thornton's acting. "If they look you in the eye and say, 'We promise,' then that's the deal," he said. "If I tell some guy who lied to me, in my face, to not say something, it doesn't make any sense to me."

Don't call Billy Bob Thornton an actor! That is the lesson learned by a Canadian radio host during an interview earlier this week.
Thornton, who has appeared in more than 50 films and won an Oscar for writing Sling Blade, became combative during an interview on CBC radio while promoting his band Boxmasters with his bandmates.
The star mumbles answers to host Jian Ghomeshi and gives nonsensical responses. A rep for the actor tells PEOPLE that Thornton reacted out of displeasure with the line of questioning: "He simply elected not to engage the interviewer because of the direction of the interview from the onset," Thornton's rep says."The tour is going great."

But the onetime aspiring pro baseball player is putting his own spin on Coach Buttermaker, the cranky leader of a ragtag team of Little Leaguers. Thornton, 49, spoke to PEOPLE about getting back to the baseball diamond, being a dad (he has three kids from previous marriages and a 10-month-old daughter, Bella, with girlfriend Connie Angland) and ex-wife Angelina Jolie's new addition to her family.

BORN: Billy Bob Thornton, 49, and his girlfriend Connie Angland, 39, announced Wednesday that she has given birth to a baby girl, the Associated Press reports. The girl, named Bella, weighed 6 lbs. 1 1/2 oz., said the actor's publicist. Mother and child – Thornton's fourth and Angland's first – were both said to be doing well. Thornton, who has three children from two of his five previous marriages, divorced Angelina Jolie in May 2003.

Billy Bob Thornton is in a Texas state of mind these days. Not only is he starring as Davy Crockett in The Alamo, but the Oscar winner also is teaming up with Tim McGraw for a benefit concert in San Antonio – and he has the flag of the Lone Star state tattooed on his back. Thornton, 48, recently spoke to reporters about playing Texas hero Crockett, staying on good terms with ex-wife Angelina Jolie and getting his kicks from playing music.
