This month, audiences get to see Michael Fassbender's performance as the late Apple CEO Steve Jobs. And while we can easily compare Fassbender in the role to what we remember of Jobs in interviews and addresses he gave while he was the public face of the technology company, it will be hard not to recall that other Steve Jobs biopic, 2013's Jobs, which starred Ashton Kutcher in the title role.

Given its focus on music and the people who love it, it's appropriate that Almost Famous is one of those movies that works like an old favorite record. Sure, it stands up well as a whole, but you can also be flipping channels, see that some cable airing is about to hit one of your favorite scenes and then just hang out for a few minutes. It's like scanning the radio and happening across that one song you really needed to hear. You have the album at home. You could listen to the whole thing anytime you want, but sometimes that one special part of it just hits you perfectly.

Matt Damon, Marion Cotillard, Emily Blunt, John Krasinski, Amy Adams, Ethan Hawke, Frances McDormand, Jack Black, Willem Defoe and more stepped out to celebrate the 2012 Gotham Independent Film Awards at Cipriani downtown on Monday .
While Moonrise Kingdom took home the award for best feature film, Damon and Cotillard both received special career tributes during the ceremony – which honors the best in independent film.
Cotillard – who was "very smiley all evening and polite to diners around her," an onlooker tells PEOPLE – sat with Too Big to Fail actor Billy Crudup. While Damon was joined by his wife, Luciana, and shared a front and center table with Blunt and Krasinski.
