Already tired of Christmas music? Or are you more pumped than ever for the holiday?

The annual rollout of Christmas songs is often a rushed, haphazard affair: You can only take so many versions of "Sleigh Ride" crammed into your Black Friday commute before you crack. So to help you cope, we've created this Christmas Song Advent Calendar. Play one of these songs each day as we approach Christmas to help you get in the spirit.

[BRIGHTCOVE "3919830808001" "" "" "auto"] Most fans of Bing Crosby remember his family from the iconic Christmas specials in which his wife Kathryn and their three grown children sang carols and palled around with celebrities like Robert Goulet and Bernadette Peters.
But a new documentary called Bing Crosby Rediscovered – airing Tuesday night at 8 p.m. ET on PBS as part of the American Masters series – sheds fresh light on Crosby's first family with Dixie Lee, a shy actress who drank herself to oblivion before succumbing to ovarian cancer in 1952 at the age of 41.
She and Crosby had four sons, two of whom were twins named Dennis and Phillip, who experts believe suffered from their mother's heavy drinking.

Shirley Temple Black, who died Monday night at the age of 85, was the most famous child actor of her era, a successful politician, and the inspiration for a delicious drink to boot. But for those who weren't around during her heyday, what's most surprising may be exactly how big Temple was at her peak: She was Hollywood's No. 1 box-office draw from 1935 to 1938, beating out every adult star in the business, according to Quigley's annual Top Ten Moneymakers Poll.
Below, relive the highlights of these legends from the Golden Age of Hollywood, all of whom were less popular than a little girl from Santa Monica.

As any Hallmark card can tell you, the holidays are about bringing people together. For some of us, that means reuniting with grown-up children, or welcoming long-lost cousins into our homes. But for musicians, it means something else: seasonal duets, often performed with the oddest of partners.
From reality-show novelty songs to stocking-stuffer EPs, Christmas isn't Christmas until two people who have no business being in the same room have crowded in front of the mic to sing a holiday classic. Why do they do this? You should just as soon ask Black Friday shoppers why they camp out for hours in front of big-box stores. Holiday magic is a compelling thing.

Dolores Hope wanted to live in Beverly Hills, but her funnyman husband, Bob Hope, had other ideas.
"Every time I mentioned Beverly Hills, Bob would go out and buy another piece of property here," Dolores would say, waving a hand to indicate the vast spread that the two of them inhabited in the San Fernando Valley's Toluca Lake starting in 1939.
Eventually the grounds surrounding their English-style manor swelled to 5.16 acres, and the family grew to include four children. The house grew, too, to 15,000 sq. ft., leaving Bob to joke that he needed a map just to find the way to his room.
