Brad Womack & Emily Maynard: We're Going to Make It
Originally posted 03/16/2011 08:00AM
Millions tuned in to see The Bachelor's Brad Womack get down on one knee and propose to single mom Emily Maynard in a South African vineyard. But are the couple still engaged?
"I'm so happily engaged. I've never been happier, I promise you that," Womack, 38, tells PEOPLE in this week's cover story.
The pair confess that the months following their storied TV courtship have been difficult. When The Bachelor began airing in January, Maynard, 25, saw that her fiancé was being, well, a bachelor on the show by wooing other women on their respective dates.
Despite Womack's assurances that she was the woman of his dreams, Maynard struggled as she watched the season play out.

Chantal O'Brien in a 'Really Good Place' After Bachelor Finale
Originally posted 03/15/2011 12:05PM
Bachelor fans saw Texas bar owner Brad Womack gently let down Seattle executive assistant Chantal O'Brien on the season finale Monday night so that he could propose to single mom Emily Maynard.
But the adventurous 28-year-old O'Brien was confused by the dismissal, leaving a puddle of tears behind in South Africa. PEOPLE spoke to O'Brien, who happily reports she's back in Seattle and "in a really good place."
It was sad watching you leave on the finale.
I'm doing a lot better! What you saw on the finale, I had just gotten my heart broken. There I was thinking this is someone I could have a future with and they didn't want to be with me. It broke my heart. But in the time since then I've had time to heal and move forward.

Brad Womack's Bachelor Blog: 'I'm Engaged!'

I'm engaged to Emily Maynard!
It's hard to describe how badly I've wanted to speak, type, text and even scream those words for the past few months. I'm engaged!
I can honestly say that I am happier than I've ever been in my entire life and I am hoping to provide the woman I love with that very same happiness. It's been such a strange ordeal to try to "survive" so much speculation, so much scrutiny. Emily is an inherently kind woman and some of the things we've had to endure have tested our relationship but here we are – and we've made it! We are both looking at this as a brand new start to an already blossoming relationship ... the future is in our hands!

Who Won Brad Womack's Heart?
Originally posted 03/14/2011 10:05PM
Brad Womack's first stint on The Bachelor in 2007 didn't end so well. The Texas bar owner famously walked away from his final two women, leaving both in tears and earning him a reputation as someone with a phobia of commitment.
This season Womack, 38, vowed he was a changed man and ready to find everlasting love. And he's been bursting at the seams for months, saying in interviews that he's in love with a special woman.
But is it 28-year-old Seattle executive assistant Chantal O'Brien, who made a lasting first impression on Womack when she declared, "This is for all the women in America," and slapped him across the face? Or did demure Charlotte, N.C., single mom Emily Maynard, 25, win his heart?

Chantal or Emily? Who Should Bachelor Brad Pick?
Originally posted 03/05/2011 10:30AM
Chantal or Emily – that is the question.
Despite their differences, Bachelor star Brad Womack tells PEOPLE, that both "would make incredible wives – incredible mates."
"Both of those women had qualities I was looking for," he told PEOPLE at a taping of Women Tell All, set to air March 7, about the final two women.
Chantal is "game for everything, easy, fun and we hit it off early," he says. "There was immediate physical chemistry there. But we have had a lot of emotional highs and lows. When she gets so upset, like she did in Anguilla, it makes me wonder if we could find a rhythm and make it work for the rest of our lives."

Ashley Hebert: Miscommunication Got Me Booted from The Bachelor
Originally posted 03/04/2011 11:15AM
Ashley Hebert, who was sent home from The Bachelor this week after an awkward date with Brad Womack, went from participating in what Womack called the best first date of his life to discussing mosquito nets in a South African fantasy suite. The-26-year-old, who is a few months shy of finishing dental school in Philadelphia, spoke with reporters about what went wrong.
Did you respect being booted privately instead of at a rose ceremony?
I left really heartbroken, but watching it and hearing all the things he said about it helped me [get] closure and solidified what kind of relationship we had, which was one full of respect and mutual admiration. People gave him a hard time for dragging girls along the first time. So once he made his decision, he wasn't going to string me along.
Brad said that he figured you for final two from go. How did it feel to hear that?
(Groans) It absolutely made me feel worse, but confirmed what we had in my mind and it made it harder to live with the regret of being so closed off. No doubt, we had something really strong.
So what went wrong?

Bachelor Brad: Keeping My Choice Secret Has Been 'Brutal'
Originally posted 03/03/2011 01:30PM
Two-time Bachelor Brad Womack may have picked one woman he hopes to spend the rest of his life with – but the long wait before he can reveal his choice to the world is taking its toll.
"Every Monday night since Jan. 3 has not been a good night at my house," Womack told PEOPLE at a taping of the Women Tell All special, set to air on March 7. "I was particularly scared of the overnight, exotic date episode. We will see how she handles it."
"It's brutal," he says of the pre-finale media blitz. "You go on [the show], you find someone, you choose each other and then you hit the pause button. You can't just start the daily life stuff."
"I'm excited to move in together and go on real dates," Womack, 38, says. "My only intention [in doing the show] is to start a future."
