Since April, a woman named Danielle Davies has been lugging around a life-size cardboard cutout of the American Hustle star and documenting the results on Instagram. The images are frequently unsettling, and always hilarious.

When it comes to 2014's Best Picture nominees, each region has its own taste: New Jersey prefers Wolf of Wall Street, Dallas loves its Buyers Club and the Midwest can't get enough Captain Phillips.
That's the lesson from Facebook's map of trending Best Picture films. The social network's analytics team measured Facebook mentions of all nine Best Picture nominees during the week before the Oscars and found that five films stood out: 12 Years a Slave, Captain Phillips, Dallas Buyers Club, The Wolf of Wall Street and American Hustle.
