The work was suffering. He was suffering. At 29, Bradley Cooper knew he had to make a decision. Thankfully, he made the right one.
"If I continued it, I was really going to sabotage my whole life," the American Hustle star, now 38, tells GQ's January issue of why he got sober almost a decade ago.
The actor and PEOPLE's 2012 Sexiest Man Alive had a particularly bad run-in with drugs and alcohol around the time of his breakthrough role in Wedding Crashers – he has spoken before of intentionally smashing his head on concrete at a party and ending up in the hospital.

We already know she can dance (thanks to Silver Linings Playbook) and kick ass (as seen in The Hunger Games). But apparently, there's something else Jennifer Lawrence is good at: kissing.
The Oscar winner's lip-locking abilities got high praise from Amy Adams, her costar in the Golden Globe-nominated film American Hustle. The pair share a kiss in the crime drama, set in the 1970s.
"She does a great job at it," Adams, 39, said of Lawrence, 23, during an interview with Extra. "She has very soft lips."

Two is an exciting age for children. By this stage of development, most toddlers are learning how to play with blocks, ride tricycles, and jump off of things. Or, if they're this amazing kid, they're making impossible basketball shots look ridiculously easy.
Two-year-old Titus Ashby originally came to the Internet's attention in February (almost half his lifetime ago) when the first video of his amazing trick shots gained more than 13 million views. Since then, little Titus has released several more videos, battled Kobe Bryant and been hit in the face on Fox & Friends. Ouch. (No worries, folks, he's fine.)

His wife, Victoria Beckham, suggested earlier this year that he should be the next James Bond, but whom would David Beckham want to play him in a movie about his life?
The retired soccer star and sometime underwear model admitted he was stumped when the question was posed during a radio interview with U.K.'s talkSPORT on Thursday.
"Someone asked me that the other day and I couldn't answer it," he admitted. But when the interviewer suggested Brad Pitt, the father of four took the ball and ran with it.

Lots of people dread going to their 20-year high school reunion. But not Bradley Cooper!
The Hangover star returned to his alma mater, Germantown Academy in Fort Washington, Pa., on Nov. 8 to catch up with friends from the class of 1993 and visit his favorite teachers.
"He has come back to GA a couple of times to talk to students," a school official tells PEOPLE. "He loves seeing his old teachers and enjoys reminiscing with them. When he says he's going to do something for the school, he does it. He's a big supporter and proud to be a part of this school. So it was no surprise that he came to the reunion."
