Peta Murgatroyd is a former Dancing with the Stars champion, winning the coveted mirror-ball trophy in season 14 – only her second season on the series – with Donald Driver. The Australia native will blog for PEOPLE about competing with Big Time Rush band member James Maslow during the show's 18th season.
This has been the most work I've ever had in the off-season. I didn't stop working. I was touring and making appearances and attending charity events. I didn't get any break or holiday or anything like that, but that's how I like it. I love being busy. It felt like this season crept up so quickly. The premiere is right around the corner and I feel like I just met James.
I think there's a very eclectic bunch of people this season and, so far, everybody has such a nice personality and demeanor. There's not one of them who isn't really, really lovely to work with. I think having three Olympians will be amazing for the competition. They're going to make everyone work a little bit harder to catch up to them.

There are apparently no hard feelings in the Dancing with the Stars hosting hot seat.
Since being shockingly replaced by Erin Andrews as the co-host of ABC's hit show for its 18th season (which kicks off on Monday), Brooke Burke-Charvet "has been very encouraging to Erin," fellow host Tom Bergeron, 58, told PEOPLE on Tuesday.
"She and Erin have exchanged phone calls and voicemail messages. Erin was very complimentary to Brooke. So, in the midst of a difficult situation, there's a whole lot of maturity going on."

Four years after her emotional exit from Dancing with the Stars, Erin Andrews will be strapping on her high heels again and returning to the ballroom, this time as a co-host, replacing Brooke Burke-Charvet.
In an exclusive interview, the sports reporter, 35, tells PEOPLE she knows it's going to be an adjustment – both for her and for those who are fans of Burke-Charvet.
"I don't blame the audience at all. How could you?" she says. "I know that I have huge shoes to fill. I'm a fan of Brooke. She was very wonderful toward me in my season. She was so caring and so fantastic. I can only hope I can emulate somebody like that and use her for guidance."

Brooke Burke-Charvet is leaving Dancing with the Stars.
The news that she won't return to the show comes as a shock to the former contestant, who was by Tom Bergeron's side as co-host since season 10 of the ballroom dancing competition.
"Weird day ... Shocking pre-season elimination #DWTS …ME. Tom Bergeron didn't even read my name," Burke-Charvet, 42, Tweeted at midnight Saturday. "I won't be returning to the show this season."
ABC released a statement to PEOPLE on Saturday: "We can confirm that Brooke Burke-Charvet will not be joining us next season. She's been a wonderful part of the Dancing with the Stars family since her triumphant win in season seven and will unquestionably be missed by our entire team," the statement reads. "We'd like to thank Brooke for her years of great service."
Burke-Charvet wasn't the only one who was surprised by the news. "It was a shock they let Brooke go," a source tells PEOPLE. "The cast and crew loved her. It's very sad."
