Dancing with the Stars's typically upbeat host Brooke Burke-Charvet was back in serious mode after the show's finale last week.
Prepping for her thyroidectomy, she wrote on her Facebook page Monday, "I'm getting ready this week for my surgery and am planning on a speedy recovery … What a crazy time, but I am surrounded with love and support and that really makes a world of difference."
The TV personality, 41 – who plans to keep fans updated on her post-surgery progress via videos on the ModernMom website – says she's "touched and appreciative to [supporters] for sharing your positive wishes for my surgery and for sharing many of your personal thyroid experiences."

Brooke Burke-Charvet's troubling diagnosis of thyroid cancer isn't slowing her down.
Even with an upcoming surgery and a thyroidectomy, the Dancing with the Stars co-host and mom has too much to live for in the moment.
"The stress and anxiety that I've been feeling is now outweighed by love and support, and it is overwhelming in the most beautiful way," Burke-Charvet, 41, wrote Tuesday on the ModernMom blog in a post called "Feeling Great and Full of LOVE!"

There have been more than a few surprises at Dancing with Stars this season, but none bigger than host Brooke Burke-Charvet's announcement of a cancer diagnosis.
"You would never have known she was going through this," competitor Melissa Rycroft, who currently is atop the leaderboard, tells PEOPLE. "We all commend her for being brave and going public with it and I know she's a fighter. She will pull through this."
Rycroft's pro partner Tony Dovolani adds, "As parents, we know exactly what she is going through. She has an incredible heart and a strong mind. In fact, she's actually trying to be strong for all of us. Things like this bring us all closer."

Brooke Burke-Charvet isn't going through her thyroid cancer scare alone.
Not only does she have her immediate brood behind her, but she also has her Dancing with the Stars family.
"She knows my love and support are with [her]," the TV personality's DWTS co-host Tom Bergeron said Thursday on The Talk, just hours after Burke-Charvet revealed she will undergo a thyroidectomy. "We're all right there with her."

Emmy-winning emcee Tom Bergeron and co-host Brooke Burke Charvet kept the suspense building until the judges rendered their scores – including the season's first 9 – while the audience audibly jeered those times that lower numbers were delivered.

Dancing with the Stars host Brooke Burke-Charvet had a girls' night out at Malibu Inn with four friends. The ladies shot pool and sipped Patron Silver margaritas in the restaurant's billiard room. She was laughing and joking with her friends (and even a few fans) before the group headed out – after one of Burke-Charvet's friends picked up the tab. – Jennifer Garcia

It's down to four on Dancing with the Stars – J.R. Martinez, Ricki Lake, Rob Kardashian, and Hope Solo. And Brooke Burke Charvet believes they all have a legitimate shot at the mirror-ball trophy.
"I've always thought that J.R. was a frontrunner. I think Ricki has a shot at it as well. I think it's going to be one of those finales where we don't know what's going to happen," the co-host of the ABC show told PEOPLE Saturday at the Harajuku Mini for Target launch at Jim Henson Studios in Hollywood.
But don't count out Kardashian and Solo, either.
