The custody battle over Charlie Sheen and Brooke Mueller's twin boys is over – for now.
"Brooke and Charlie have reached an agreement that resolves their differences," their attorneys said in a joint statement Thursday after two weeks of intense negotiations. "For the benefit of the children, the terms of their agreement will not be disclosed. They ask the public for privacy on this matter."
The agreement comes after Mueller won a restraining order against Sheen last week that temporarily stripped Sheen of all custody rights for their twin boys, Bob and Max, 2, after she alleged he made death threats against her.

As Charlie Sheen continues to rage against his Two and a Half Men bosses, friends say the actor's five children have been largely shielded from the circus.
Sheen's 2-year-old twins Bob and Max with estranged wife Brooke Mueller "have no idea what's going on," a family source close to Mueller tells PEOPLE in this week's cover story. Likewise, Sheen's daughters Sam, 7, and Lola, 5 – with ex-wife Denise Richards – are "doing well," says a source. "They're continuing with their normal routine."

After a week of revealing interviews, Charlie Sheen kicked off his Saturday night Webcast with a message to his children: "Daddy loves you."
Taking swigs from a baby-blue sippy cup, the 45-year-old actor also relayed a warning to his estranged wife, Brooke Mueller, with whom he's involved in a custody fight over their twins, who turn 2 next month.
Apparently addressing the boys, Sheen said, "If you're watching, tell mom to leave the room. It's on."

This can't be good.
Getting ever more involved in the Charlie Sheen drama is Paris Hilton, who on Saturday sent him a Tweet with a winking emoticon saying, "Hey Neighbor, I think I might have Tigerblood and I'm definitely winning! Huge!"
Hilton, 30, who has had her own high-profile troubles with drugs and the law, also features Sheen's estranged wife, Brooke Mueller, on her new Oxygen Network reality show, The World According to Paris.

As the world continues to get to know a new side of Charlie Sheen, where are his four young children in the midst of all this?
Authorities removed his twin boys, Max and Bob, nearly 2, from his care Tuesday night and returned them to their mother, Brooke Mueller, after she won a restraining order. Soon afterward, Sheen urged Mueller on NBC's Today show to "tell me where our sons are."
A source close to Mueller tells PEOPLE the boys are currently living in an L.A.-area rental apartment with her, along with Mueller's mother Moira Fiore and a nanny while Fiore waits to complete a purchase on a condo.

Has some sanity returned to Charlie Sheen's world?
Embroiled in a bitter custody dispute with estranged wife Brooke Mueller, the actor dropped hints Thursday that an agreement was in the works that would keep them out of court for now.
Following a report of a hearing Monday concerning their twin sons, Sheen said on his new Twitter page, "not sure what all the legal noise is about ... just verbally reached a deal with B. no court mon. yay."
He adds, "Yet the opposition felt it necessary to still harass me with old gibberish .... odd? perhaps. transparent? you betcha'!"

Just hours after Brooke Mueller filed a restraining order against Charlie Sheen on Tuesday, police were on the actor's doorstep to return the couple's sons to their mom – and for now Sheen is barred from having contact with his ex and their kids.
So, how did it all happen so quickly and what's next in the brewing custody battle between the exes? An expert weighs in to answer those questions and more.
How were Sheen's sons taken away so quickly?
"If a judge receives credible evidence that a person poses a threat to another parent or their children, they grant restraining orders first and ask questions later, to err on the side of caution," says L.A. family lawyer Scott Weston, who's not involved with the case.

The explosive claims made by Brooke Mueller against Charlie Sheen are lies, according to the actor.
Mueller, 33, says in a sworn statement filed Tuesday in Los Angeles court that her ex-husband once referred to his manager, Mark Burg, as a "stoopid Jew pig," which Sheen disputes, saying that Mueller manipulated text messages on his phone.
"I would never, ever say that about my dear friend Mark. [Mueller] is trying to create discord," Sheen, 45, told PEOPLE Wednesday. "I caught her on my phone a year ago texting. She was trying to cause discord among my immediate family. I caught her red-handed and she confessed."
