Laverne Cox has been vocal in her support for Caitlyn Jenner during her transition – but that doesn't mean Cox envies the former Olympian's very public debut.
"This is why I'm so grateful that I had the luxury of transitioning in private," Cox tells Entertainment Weekly for the magazine's LGBT Issue.
The Orange Is the New Black actress – who made history last year when she became the first trans person to receive an Emmy nomination – explains, "When you transition in the public eye, the transition becomes the story."

A joke Clint Eastwood made at Caitlyn Jenner's expense will not air during the broadcast of Spike TV's Guys' Choice 2015 Awards next month.
While pre-taping the ceremony on Saturday night, Eastwood, 85, was introducing actor Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and remarked on the San Andreas star's transition from athlete to actor. According to USA Today, Eastwood then reportedly compared Johnson's career leap to those of "Jim Brown and Caitlyn Somebody."

Former Nickelodeon star Drake Bell has apologized for comments he made Monday following the release of Caitlyn Jenner's cover of Vanity Fair.
"I sincerely apologize for my thoughtless insensitive remarks. I in no way meant to hurt or demean those going through a similar journey," Bell Tweeted Thursday.
In his defense, Bell, 28, added that his "comments were made in innocence. I deeply regret the negative effect they've had on so many."
